Okay I have a chance to get a totalled geo storm gsi for cheap, with the high out put engine, 1.8 DOHC 16 valve made by izuzu. I have heard that this engine will bolt right up to a track/kicks 2wd tranny, is this correct? Has anyone ever done this swap in your sami? Would you do the swap again if you had the chance to do it over, or is it worth the labor? Let me know, thanks, -Drew

I know almost sounds too good to be true, it's a bad a$$ motor, but I think I was searching around on this board and if I remember correctly someone has done this. I don't remember what I searched for to get it to pop up, it was awhile ago, before the car was totalled my cousin wated to know if I'd buy it from her, so doing what every sami guy would do I searched to see if this motor would go into a sami, somehow, someway. By posting I was hoping to get a bite from the gentelman who may have done this swap. The search continues...

Sorry bud, you are thinking of the Swift motor. The Swift is a Suzuki, The Geo Storm is an Isuzu Impulse. Very different.
On a side note, why bother with that little 1.8 Isuzu with something like 135 HP when you could drop in a Turbo 2.0 with 195 HP? (That's before you play with the turbo.) :D this is what I am currently dropping into my Samurai. Yep, the rotary is up for sale. Anyone need a real nice 13B 6 port rotary with full wire harness? I was going to drop it into my Zuk. I'll throw in the 4 speed automatic for free. (I'm going to go make an ad in the for sale area.)

Roto,
Well I now own the totalled geo storm, but oh well, I can sell it for more than what I have in it. What is this 2.0 turbo out of, sounds very interesting. Thanks, -Drew
