i finally decided to get rid of my 08 rubicon in favor of something more reliable another tj! the rubicon was a real disappointment after 10 months with the power of a 4 cyl and the mileage of a big block it was time to go. i ended up trading it to the dealership straight across for a 98 tj so now i can put alot more into this tj over the next couple of months since i am saving nearly $550 a month in just jeep payment. plus not needing full coverage now. on to the specs basically bone stock 98 tj with 90k on it, 32" bfg mts, 4.0, auto trans, hard top and doors. power nothing! (something i truly love!) the day i picked it up put my warn 8k winch and rustys stinger on it, the next day took it up to tsf to follow my buddy around on the break in run for his cherokee i was able to keep up pretty good considering he is on 38"s and locked front and rear.
luckily i already have a big pile of parts to put into this tj over the next couple months,
polyperformance cage
d60 and a 14bt
a big box of ballistic joints, tube adapters, brackets, and 14bt truss/diff cover
16" travel foa remote resi coilovers
and alot more i cant think of off the top of my head.
but until i can afford the rest of what i need to really build it it is getting a hardcore budget boost and bump stops to keep those massive 32"s out of the fender
i am still undecided on tires but whatever fits a set of hummer beadlocks is good enough for me.

and the final farewell to the rubicon dealer drove it an hour to my house to get my moms signature (only on it for lower interest) he made it half way up the driveway before he broke the rear yoke

..Seems like you got the shit end of the stick for a straight up trade.. I'd have traded you my CJ, my TJ, and my bike for a '08 JK.

EDIT: I guess it depends how much you had into it, payment wise. I suppose you could have come out on top (though I doubt it, since my 97 cost me less than $2,000,) so I retract my previous statement.

i couldnt have cared less for that jk. the way i see it i still came out on top the savings account was getting really low since i have had a hell of a time finding a job lately so it probably would have got repoed soon anyways. instead of that i have a jeep that can actually fit down trails and that i already have a ton of parts for. and 20k i dont owe any more.

I have haerd so many people complain about the lack of power with these.

I do want one, but the first upgrade is going to be a Hemi. That should solve the power issue once and for all.

But I also want to find a salvaged title JK as opposed to buying new.

had my 08 rubicon 4 dr jk for about 6 months before i couldnt take it anymore and bought another yj. I had a 4" lift and 35's. The biggest mistake i have made on a vehicle purchase. Have never missed it for a minute.
