I know its kind of a stupid newbie question, but i'm gonna risk the flames and ask anyways. I'm planning on rollin some herculiner on the bottom part of my doors, and rockers, and i was wondering how to get a nice clean cut line at the top edge of the herc. Will just laying down a strip of masking tape work? Just wondering how tough this stuff is to work with since i've never used it before.

your average tape wont be enough to cut that stuff, the LINE-X guys use a type of masking tape that has a wire on the edge with a hoop on the end to cut right though the LINE-X and leave a very clean job, i like my interior much more with it and it cut down on noise, you could try some regular masking tape then come back with a razor and a steady hand along the edge of the tape, just an opinion:confused:

Masking tape works well, just BE SURE to remove the tape right away before it sets up or you'll never get it off.

You can use reg. masking tape . you just have to pull it befor it hardens. But honestly i wouldent waste your time.It wont hold up to the abuse!
Im sorry i just read your post again,It will work well on the doors and body pannles but its not strong enough to to the rockes or nerfs

tape works fine but... it will just flake off it really isn't that tough.

I know the stuff can and will get damaged, but its a lot tougher than paint, and it will hide the area at the bottom of my drivers door where i winched it against a boulder in AZ. Thanks for the tips.
