Hey guys I know this subject has been covered a million times. But one more time won't hurt.Right?:flipoff2:
A buddy of mine turned me n to a 40 around the corner from my kids sitters house. H don't know shit about it other than " It's blacke primer, lifted with no top and a cage". He also said it didn't look too beat, but at 50 miles an hour you tend to miss shit. What are the basics I should look for on a quick onceover? Rust, dents, missing parts, blah blah blah. Where do 40's rust the worst and the first, so I can pay special attention? Thanks in advance!!! I tell ya how it turned out tomorrow.

where do they rust?? I think the shorter version would be where DON'T they rust. ;)

Floor boards, rear quarter panels, under the gas tank, in the frame rails......etc.....With the top being gone, the rust might be worse than usual but it all depends. Just make sure all the parts are there. It's amazing what some people pass off as "Complete".

How does he want for it?

What do they say about bein a day late and a dollar short? After driving past the house 3 times I finally figured out that my buddy is a jackass and the place I was looking for was on the south side of the road and not the north.:flipoff2: So I talk to a guy standing outside. "The truck sold in 2 days". I have been out of town for a week and basically missed the whole deal. It was his kids and he didn't know shit about it so no help at all. Not too sure what I missed out on or how much it was, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.
