Ok, so what seems to be the trick to getting 90* on one shot? I'm going to convert the JD2 to vertical bending on a custom stand with the HF air/hydro ram. I've ready so many bender threads that my eyes hurt.
Seems there are 3 schools of thought on ram mounting.
-Ram mounted to swing arm and stand base
-Ram mounted to swing arm and stationary arm with round clamp to ram body
-Ram mounted to swing arm and stationary arm (similar to copperhead fab bracket)
Is it all in the geometry of the ram or just the angle it's mounted?
Side note... I found a guy that built one that allowed the bender to pivot to let you bend vertical or horizontal. Anyone have any cases where this would have come in handy?
Other ideas to incorporate? Shelf for tools, holder for lube, laser for index ring... Anything else you would have done differently when you build/built yours?
