Ok, if you guys dont like this, move it to non-hardcore before you rant and rave, but I did basically scrap my entire drivetrain minus the engine, so theres gotta be something hardcore about it.

Question is, How do you guys deal with the shifter location of the NP205?? I havent set it in yet, but just by eye balling it, it looks like it will be underneath the drivers seat. I saw the northwest fab cable twin stick, but $350?? FAWK!! I think i could fab a cable shifter fairly easily, ive been searching mcmaster carr and some other places on there push/pull cables. And i was considering just tieing it in to the factory shifter for now and not twin sticking it...yet.But if anyone knows an easier solution, im all ears!!!

Thanks fellas.

well as far as the np435 goes google crazy horse. you can build your own cheap off of their idea. as far as the 205 any reason why you can't just bend a custom shifter out of flat bar or heavy reabar so it clears whatevers in the way?

I can bend the 435 shifter fairly easily, its not that far off.But the 205 is so far back and to the left, i'm not sure i can, plus since its a ford drivetrain, im going from pass drop to drivers drop, so the shifters on the drivers side now.

Anyone ever have this issue?? i know im not that original.

you do realize cj's are the last passenger drop vehicle jeep made correct? yj's and tj's are driver drop. i'm doing the exact opposite as you, i'm going to drivers to passenger. like i said bend that shit out of the way also another option is before you build cross-members etc you should be able to angle your drivetrain slightly towards you passenger side so you have more room. i don't know how much your motor is offset but i'd say i angled mine enough so that my 300 with twin sticks will clear the passenger seat it will be tight but its gonna clear. like i said make your own shifter or just start bending your factory shifter if you can get it to clear then go onto plan be with the cable shifters. but i can almost guarentee you'll get the shifter to fit by bending

i just put a ford np435 205 in my scrambler it took very little bending to get the shifters to work

If you look at this NP205-F with NP435 adapter, how much further forward do you need the handles to be? And how close is the case to the floor?
