If you want to keep your 6 lug bolt pattern could swap in a 6 lug semi floating 14 bolt. I don't know where you located, but I can get you one for $500, everything turns freely, you'd either need new drums or have them turned and new shoes. The best route to go is getting a full floater and changing your front 10 bolt to 8 lugs, I got 8 lug stuff from Autozone, it was $100 a side for the rotor and hub with studs already pressed in, and I got new factory 3/4 caliper supports for $65 a piece from GM. 14 bolt FF's are cheap, and Shaker has his brakets for $100. I paid less than $200 for calipers, rotors, pads, bearings and seal. To make a long story short go FF.

Well the problem is I cant go 8 lug, i just bought brand new wheels 6 months ago and i dont want to have to redo the front axle.

As long as you don't have dumb gears in the front axle, you should be able to find a matching 14-bolt full-floater, usually 3.73 or 4.11, with a few 4.56, and some 2-wheelers coming with 3.23's or 3.54's (afforementioned dumb gears) Search, there's a guy on this board that turns down 14-blot hubs to use 6 on 5.5 pattern wheels, as long as your wheels are aftermarket, factory Chevy wheels have a smaller center bore and would have to be ground out to clear the hub.

Either way you go, you're probably going to have to spend more money that you would like. That's how it always happens.

Was the crack pipe still touching your lips at the time, or had you set it down already? I would believe maybe a six lug flanged semi-float Dana 60, perhaps from a Jeep J-truck from about the time they switched from 5 to 6 lug, but a full floater? Maybe something someone conjured up at home, much like that home grown "tobacco" you must be using.

The other option is one of those, a semi floating 10.5" GM 14 bolt. Only big down side is that it costs 2k, plus install. But it does keep the factory 10 bolt breaks, and honestly, is about as strong as your gonna need. My buddy put one in his GMC and it is BEEFY. But for my money, on that truck, i woudl just get some new steel rims, and sell the ones you have, it will be cheaper in the long run.

BTW, i didnt think that 14 bolts came with 3.54 gears, only 3.42, did they really come with 3.54's, i woudl really really like to know if they did.

thanks. Garrett

I've seen the write up on that thing, sure seemed like a waste of time to me. Especially when you can turn down the hub on a FF 14 bolt to run 6 on 5.5 wheels.
