A little better than what? Shit, unless the price jumps at the very least it's a cheap parts rig.

I want a running 55 before buying a parts rig. But the deal is so good I might have to jump. Hell, I just sold my mountain bike for more than thats going for

Eric:

My 2 cents - if you are at all serious about having a 55, this looks like a decent builder, or a parts rig even, if its as rust free as it looks in the pics. I've seen some decent built rigs around here for $6K to $8K - and they are well worth it when you think of how much money went into them (as well as time). Being as close as that is to you, I would say you couldn't lose. Wish I had the dough right now:(

Mustard dog,
If you get it as a parts rig let me know. I am in San diego, and am looking for some parts, mostly interior stuff(door panels, sun visor, dash stuff etc.) for my 1976 FJ55. just cant get a whole rig as I have no room for it...

If it has A/C I would really be interested in buying that...

ALRIGHT, ONE OF YOU CALI GUYS BETTER GET THAT, CAUSE IF SOMEONENAMED "STARLINE" GETS THAT CRUISER FOR LESS THAN 800 BUCKS I'M GONNA BE PISSED. I'M WITHE DENNIS ON THIS ONE, WHY IS EVERYONE SAYING PARTS RIG?? DUDE SAYS IT STILL RUNS WELL!

Ok, me and fatkid and Tin Bender are discussing this one:eek: I've always wanted a 55, and was lookin for a decent body that I could swap in a motor and auto trans into. Guys think this might be the one? The other plus is that I can more than likely keep it up there at the BENDER:skull:BARN till we're ready to go.

You might want to use a sniping service such as auctionstealer.com - just a thought - good luck

What do you think would be a fair max bid?

cruiserbrett
09-18-2002, 12:12 PM
I'd say right around $1400-1500, looks about worth it too. Clean rust wise and the roof rail looks decent. that alone will save thousands of $$ in body work. If you get it and it has stock wheels I'll buy 'em.

70Cruzer

the roof rail does have some rust but not through yet.
and Im gonna be bidding a little over a 1100 :D ....

Mustard Dog

It's yours, that's a little more than I wanted to spend;)

KRUSTY... HOW CAN YOU HAVE A SNIPING SERVICE? WHAT IS IT? I MEAN, HOW CAN YOU "SNIPE" WITHOUT GOING OVER WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO PAY FOR IT IF SOMEONE ELSE IS WILL ING TO PAY MORE?

Kaderabek

Sniping doesn't guarantee you'll win, it just guarantees you'll get your top bid in at the last second. So you tell it your max, and it bids whatever it takes to win, up to your max. bid. You'll swear you aren't going to get the bid in on time, and then suddenly you have!

I just wanted to throw that out there in case you were going to bid more I wouldve backed off. we dont need to jack it up anymore than needed. :D

That's cool ;) I was gonna go for it if it stayed under a grand. For that price I could grab it and just put aside till I was ready to get on it. Good luck:D :D

I sniped a 60 earlier in the year from two guys who had been bidding on it for a week, back and forth. One bid, one snipe, I win. Ha! Use the tools you have available to you for your greatest advantage.

im in for about 1500 right now, the guy that looked at it (Simon) says its worth a little over a grand, the way it sits.

If your max was gonna stay at 1100, I was gonna go ahead and go higher. 1500 is definately more than I can spend:(

last minute funding from pops :D, funny thing is with an hour to go, I left work drove to his house to secure the loan, and hauled ass back to bid. Got my forty sold, but Im waiting for the cash, other wise it would have been a done deal.

Last auction I bid on I just used the T3 connection at work, the competition didn’t know what hit’em. (last second bid, one shot one kill)

I say get it, even if you had to part it out you could get $1100 easy for the parts alone. (last complete disk brake front end I sold went for $575 w/booster)

MMMKay Mark - bragging about the T3 line, huh! Dont have that option here at the jolly old homestead:p Thats why I dig auctionstealer.com - and I dont feel bad about using it! I worked in an auction company for a few years - you should see the shenaginns (sp?) that goes on. Makes sniping look like the girl scouts:D

Too bad on the 55 Len, better luck next time - we will keep our eyes and ears open (wanna buy an FJ62?) Andy
