I've got a 99' Chevy S-series blazer and I doing a SFA using a Dana 44 from an F-250. It's 4.88 precision gears, and a detroit, I'm going to be running 36's and I still have the stock V6, Do you guys think I would be alright with this setup

replace the stock axles with Warn Alloys and CTM u-joints and you should have no problems with only 36's.

Well, a dana 44 with the ctm's and alloy shafts can hold 38.5's while being backed with a healthy v8. So, your 36's will pose no problem. Just dont forget to grease thoes ctms after each run -k- :D

If your concerned still, then get a 60 and slap on ctm's and alloy shafts. Youll keep the 8 lug pattern so you dont have to change your rims.

You should be fine.
