well, i wont mention any names but a buddy of mine almost dumped his TJ in the same spot as that girl Tracy did except he went too far to the right and just laid it over on the side, still made for some exciting moments and an interesting winching moment...

I see the tugstrap so where's the rescue rig? Were you guys alone? Tell us more about it.

i was the rescue rig, i had to drive up the back side to the ledge to drop my winch down to pull him ... and man, talk about shit happening at the wrong time.... once he laid it on its side we decided where i needed to put my rig, so i jumped in and turned the key, nothing, the damn key switch fawked up, it was stuck between lock and right before the ignition point, so i could turn the key on but couldnt start it so i had to short the starter out to start it, then we ran my cable out and decided i needed to pull from on top of the ledge so we ran my M8274 cable in and i didnt stop it in time and it sucked the cable clamp in, so after getting that back right i made my way to the top and dropped the cable, i then found out as i started pulling him back right that my winch wouldnt lock so i had to keep hitting my button, (its wired to an inboard switch) to keep from dropping him... it sucked, after the pull we found out that the locking mechanism on the winch was being held back by the power cable... i have never seen so much go wrong at once.... it was Friday the 13th... it had to have been.... anyway, between all of that shit, he laid on his side for about 30 minutes... didnt damage too much, mainly scratches and a torn top... he got lucky....

Was anything done about this?

I figured that spill was fuel. Probably not much you could do, by the time they would have gotten to it, it probably would have mostly evaporated away.

Either that or it was the guys cooler full of ice pouring out.

I'll bet it is water from the red cooler in the back of the jeep and not fuel.

to address the spillage, his red cooler dumped all of the ice out, there was alittle bit of gear oil that leaked ( but we couldnt see where it was coming from and couldnt really see where it was with all of the water) we could mainly smell it on the rig.... we picked up and cleaned up everything from the event to the best of our ability..
Hey Austin, it was good meeting you... I was wondering what happened to yall... sucks about the shifters though.... i am glad yall made it out ok...
I did get to see Dan Mick run the crack though after i pulled a Grand Cherokee out of it after it mangled its tie rod...we had a good time though....

and Camo, the guy was pretty shook up on the deal, we were doing our best to try and limit the damage to his vehicle and since i powered to the top and was able to pull him from the side we thought it was best....his rig didnt even have a scratch before this...

That hill is DAMN steep. Only a real dipshit would try to back out of that.

It may not look like much from where you are sitting, but I guarantee you I am a crazy as the next guy and there is NO FAWKING WAY I would have backed out of that flop.

You should have seen what became of that mangled ZJ tie rod--took us almost 2 hours to get it off, straight, and sleeved. I felt bad 'cause Jon drove along way to wheel more that trip but the tie rod gods said nay.

We were making awesome time until that happened. Oh well. I appreciate you guys letting me bring my "open Grand Cherokee piece of shit" on the trail with you. Who needs lockers? :)

hey grocery, you kicked some ass up there for not having lockers.... we were wondering how long it took you to get out.. we kinda felt bad for leaving yall up there but we felt there were enough people up there all ready to help...i guess yall put enough spare tires down in the crack to get that new silver grand cherokee across without any damage....
