Thanks!

FWIW, I'm told that CV joint is the same that's in a minitruck. Might try that route too.

to clarify, the CV is the same as like 82 & later cvjoint (mini trucks have longer slip) 4speed & earlier minitrucks have a smaller higher angle cv w/ like 8" slips. they are all different lengths but share the same bolt pattern.

Brett in answer to your PM, no there are none in my boneyard......ya gotta remember we have over 100 members in LSC, and a great majority of them are building SO rigs.....so these are gone long before they see my farm.
I have purchased 3 on Ebay, from $60-80. You just gotta watch for them.
The guy in New Hampshire that wrecks out so many trucks is a good source.......name escapes me.
I have bought quite a bit of stuff from him, in fact LSC got a pallet of parts about a year ago, saved a ton on shipping.

I've picked up Mini truck shafts for $25-$40. I highly recomend going this route b/c you get a slip 2"-4" longer.
Texican, what kind of racks are on that parts 60? are they for sale?

When I did my springover I used an early FJ60 CV mated to my late FJ60 driveshaft and it worked perfect, and did not have to cut and turn. The SO was with stock height springs.

It's some POS universal fit only about 4 ft long, and it's got locks on it, and we have no keys.........
We have several guys with 60's that have looked at it, and none of them want it on their trucks........
Possibly cause most of us are assholes (like me & Nolen) and would make big fun of them......you know it would almost be as bad as putting a big ass saddle rack looking thang on the front of an otherwise good looking 40.........

Hey Butch....

I'm looking for yakima roof racks to build a roof rack around. I was just going to hack them & use the gutter mounts b/c they mount pretty solidly & I already have 2 that I got for free :D

I don't see whats wrong w/ a big ass saddle rack mounted on the front of an fj40..... after seeing some of the things you Texans do to your rigs that seems pretty minor :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

:D

Hey Brett,
I have the front cv jointed shaft from a 81 fj60. I read the other thread about bolt patterns and will go check on a 4spd drum brake rear flange after dinner. I don't know what it's worth, and don't need it, so make a (private) offer. I won't be able to ship till Monday, and if it's going to Jesse I'll send straight there for ya.

catch me here (msmythe@iei.net)

Just went through this with a friend. The 60 series flanges are larger than the 40's. You would need to change the driveshaft flanges out to mini truck flanges. Can't use the 40's flanges on the 60 drive shaft, ujoints have different cap sizes. If using on older 40 series pinion flange(smaller diameter) the 60 series flange is too big to turn 90* and redrill. If going to Jesse, then he will need to put in minitruck flanges. I read in other post that the Tacoma had a large CV that had a better angle than that of the minitrucks. I verified on my taco and it looks like that might be true. This is what I will be using to match my 60's split case to my 40 series pumpkins. For the rear all I did was swap out the slip yoke from a 40 and put it onthe 60 shaft. Good luck...:)

I am not sure I follow you, but from what I KNOW bolts up, an FJ60 front driveshaft (pre 8/'84) fits directly on the P. Brake drum of a 1975 and newer FJ40. The Non CV yoke is the same as an FJ40, and even has the same u-joint... After the end of '84 all bets are off, as the pattern changed for sure. I am after the early CV FJ60 shafts to send out to get converted to long travel, but still maintian the L/C flange pattern.
