Hey guys,

I've been cruisin my local craigslist like usual and found some interesting things.
Some hugemongous air compressors and a decent looking hose reel.

(Air comp from shop) http://southjersey.craigslist.org/tls/1352275670.html

(Air comp from dentist) http://southjersey.craigslist.org/tls/1353800814.html

(Hose reel) http://southjersey.craigslist.org/tls/1354915835.html

I emailed the first ad and all he said was its 220V single phase, was from a shop, and did NOT leak or run bad. He also doesn't have it hooked up.
Other than that he has no information. What should I look for?

Second one is from a dentist office and one of the motors is blown. Not sure if this would be good or not..

Hose reel is a reelcraft and that model is about $200 new. I'm thinking this is a decent deal.

Any general info for looking at used compressors and or any pressurized things?

Thanks in advance!

If the pump and motor on the grey one are good and not worn out 350 for BOTH those seem good.. especially if you can salvage the pump on the other tank and make a 2nd one with just a new motor. I would offer $200 ;) Most people with such large compressors want to unload them quickly as they are taking up way to much space in their shop as they've already replaced it with a new one. I still think as long as it puts out good CFM and isn't on its way out 350 is a fair price for them both. My pump on my 80g upright is going out it pumps up SLOW but it works... and rebuild kits are not too much $$ either. When you start adding in the motor, starter, pressure switch, *new pump* it adds up quick.

If you can't listen to it run I would not pay full asking price.

Hose real seems fair and what they go for at auction as long as it's in working order.

Thanks for the input Todd, that is exactly what I'm looking for.

the one from the dentists office is most likely an oil-less compressor as most in the medical fields are.
