i've got an older bostich stapler model # t55S4. it's a 1/2 crown by 2'' gun and needs to be rebuilt, problem is i can't find just a rebuild kit for it.

anyone have a link for good part places for nail/staple gun rebuild kits?
i'm going to break it down tonight and see what it needs.i think the po never oil'd it and now that i own it and have oil'd it every time,it's to late.it will work once or twice then nothin.if you hit witha hammer, you will get a few more out of it.i think maybe the piston was run dry and got scored,we'll see tonight.

There is a Stanley Bostitch repair center in town, Chris. Try checking with the following place:

I'm in the tool repair/construction supply business and bostich is notoriously slow on parts. check the exhaust valve in the cap of the gun. I'm not familiar with that particular model so i dont know if its a floating or fixed cylinder.

yeah let me tell you about the "toolbox",ever been there? place is a complete disaster, shit every where.it took the guy three months to get me a 18v batt for a milwaukee drill i have.i called him probably 20 times, didn't answer the phone, stopped in there,no one around for days.it's one guy,no help. if you went to home depo and bought every tool they have, fill a dump truck bed and pour them out in a pile and put one guy next to them. that's the tool box.

i'm done with that guy,i will source my own stuff and fix my own shit in a timely fashion after that experience. but thanks for searchin and findin.

yeah i'm going to tear the thing down i a little while and see what i have.i love it when it works, but i know it is do for some cleaning and rebuilding.i'm going to try and find a kit or something that will get this gun back to as close to new as i can get.

thanks for the site info.

Also, i dont know what you have available but you can pick up generic o-ring kits from autoparts/industrial houses that have sets of o-rings in graduated sizes.. You dont need a bostich o-ring. nothing special about them.

Most of the time a good cleaning and re oiling will do wonders for pneumatic tools. Its sometimes shocking to open them up and find out all the crap that was inside of them.

I've got one of these. I used to be a framer back in the day. Parts for these are hard/next to impossible to get. Guys I used to work with called em SON OF A BOSTICHES cause they were so heavy. Up side was you could use em for a hammer and they'd still work.:D

yep i've done it,and they are heavy.i also have the porter one also, but i realy think the bostich has more balls.i have a whole assortment of o-rings,i hope it's just that and not something major.i do like the gun enough to put some time and dough into it.
