Ok guys....I've got an s10 with with late 70's Ford Dana 44 and 9" under it...both with full detroits. Question is, what would be the main cause for the rear driveshaft going in the 9" to spin about a half turn or more before engaging. I know the locker has some to do with that, but it feels like it is slamming when it engages most of the time. How much rotation of the driveshaft would be considered normal and excessive when going from say reverse to drive? This is my first time having a full locker in the rear so I'm learning somewhat, and I just put new seals and a crush sleeve in the housing. Can this have much to do with preload, or something else like backlash not set right? Thanks in advance.
