same.....:(
RokYota 09-21-2009, 06:27 PM In the same boat as ya'll, mah junk is just about back together, but the front high-steer arms are still bent and I'm very torn weather to straighten them or not.......
broncolou 09-22-2009, 12:19 PM Any pics of the course?
DozerDan 09-22-2009, 02:51 PM I epoxied my rad back together. I dont know if it will work or not but I am gonna pretend it never broke. I do need to get another elect fan though, because the one w/o any fan blades on it, probably is not going to work so well.
griportip4x4 09-22-2009, 05:22 PM pics will be up tomorrow we have pre running for quads and trucks
RokYota 09-24-2009, 06:08 PM Two days !!!! So who's still working on their junk :flipoff2:. Just finished pulling off all the unessasary weight and aligning the bitch. Just gotta give it another bath.........
vetteboy79 09-24-2009, 06:21 PM See you guys at the tech line.
broncolou 09-24-2009, 06:34 PM I am done the hard stuff. Now just need to clean her up a little.......:D
DozerDan 09-24-2009, 07:16 PM aligning the bitch.
WHAT!!!
Hell I power washed mine sunday, sprayed the crack in the rad with some brake clean and epoxied the hell out of it.
It seems to be holding, but I dont know for sure because the head was vaporlocked and I couldnt get coolant to flow, so I pulled the temp sensor out of the t-stat, and in bleeding the air out the tstat opened and started pumping fluiding out of the sensor hole. ALL OVER THE PLACE. The wall, my tool boxes, the open drawers (5) in the tool box, all covered in coolant.
So I spent two hours last night cleaning off tools and tool boxes. Ready to give it another go tomorrow night.
Other than that just need to make up some ds hoops and throw a second fan on it.
vetteboy79 09-24-2009, 10:24 PM Let me know if you still want that fan I've got sittin around.
92redyj 09-25-2009, 05:21 AM I'm bummed I didn't get to make one of thse races all season.
I'll be attending a wedding and can't make it. Have fun guys!

Highrolleres 09-26-2009, 07:59 PM wow what a fun day.i got to wave flags :flipoff2:
great job anthony and hope your trucks not too messed up boncolou
PhillyFan55 09-27-2009, 07:16 AM Jason...good stuff! Very entertaining. WOuld be neat to add the comp quads in with the race card of the big stuff to attract both crowds and allow for people to see all the action that can't make two days. Sorry I did not catch up with you...the rains came and you were pretty busy. Let me know for next season if I can support you in anyway with this venture.
Deuce- awesome job! Congrats on the win. Let me know if you decide to fly and we will figure out transportation.
Lou- Nice meeting you. Always good to put a face with a aviator image. Sorry for the bad luck with the crash and the timing.
broncolou 09-27-2009, 08:05 AM wow what a fun day.i got to wave flags :flipoff2:

I had my truck fixed in the pits before the trophy was in Bigelo's hand. I would have loved to have run the last heat.........:(. A little fire and a tire you can put your fist through and some people think you are done racing........
The course was the best of all 3 races yet. The V8 Baja trucks were the best to watch. I had a lot of fun.
Booger hog 09-27-2009, 08:53 AM That race is awesome in every class!!! hope to have it again next year i wont miss it.
NissanTiger 09-27-2009, 10:15 AM Another great event, I'd like to thank everyone who worked to put this together, the sponsors, and all the racers who showed up. I'd like to especially thank New Egypt Speedway for giving us a place to race wheel to wheel, and a great facility to do it at. I love those cheesy cheeseburgers, and the fries there too, they really hit the spot after some hard wheeling laps lol..
I finally got to put a few faces to the names I talk to here on Pirate and met some great people, saw some old friends, had a load of fun racing.
It was a tough track, but fun as hell. I'll be coming back to race here as long as long as they'll have us there.

DozerDan 09-27-2009, 08:25 PM Definately a good time. I just wish I wouldnt have broken so soon. I was ready to really give it hell on the second race.
I had a blast though. The after party was good, well the first few hours I remember were. I think I blacked out, because I dont remember much after the shot ski, and then I went and passed out in my truck around 2am.

Yeh After I did that shot of what ever it was, it hit me hard. I dont really recall much. All I know is I was tired, went out to my truck and passed out. Woke up at 6am not really knowing where I was, fell back asleep and got up around 11. I need to work on pacing myself a little better.
Oh I have your D-ring still, forgot to give it back to you.

How did you run? Bring her home in one piece?
NissanTiger 09-28-2009, 05:14 PM How did you run? Bring her home in one piece?
Just some minor rubb'n damage to the right front fender, cosmetic... Nothing like last time, lol. I nearly broke my back in warmups, and I broke a right side torsion bar mount in the first heat. We cranked down the preload on the coilover on that side and finished the night without any problems. Just jumped a little funny off the third jump after that, wanted to turn right in mid-air, so I'd turn left in mid air and hope for a good landing
Best finish I could muster was a 4th in the first heat, finished 5th in the second and feature.
I should do much better next year, I have some evil  plans for the off season... :grinpimp:
It's just a blast racing there...

That would be Captain Morgan 100 proof. :D
I woke up at 10 AM in the back seat of my truck, looked around, saw your truck still parked there...and said to myself, at least I'm not the last asshole to get outta here.
Somewhere around 3:45 AM I got tired of raising the blinds on the poker game and peaced out. I must be getting old. :(

Bigelow Motorsports wins Inaugural 2009 XOR Short Course Championship
New Egypt, NJ September 29, 2009- Doug Bigelow, owner and driver of the number 5E race buggy, brought the inaugural 2009 short course XOR series championship back to the Emmitsburg, MD race shop this past weekend. Facing tough competition all year at the one mile New Egypt Raceway track, Bigelow battled drivers from all over the north east. Over the three event series and total of nine races, Bigelow won seven of nine heats to include two main feature wins. "We were really happy with the win this weekend and being able to bring the championship back to Maryland in the inaugural year of the series is special to us. The whole team worked hard all year to make this happen and more importantly we are very proud to be able to bring the championship home for our sponsors. Without the sponsors that support us, there is no way any of this could happen. For that we are very proud," noted Bigelow after the race.
Bigelow Motorsports will be in action next on November 7th at Rausch Creek Offroad Park for the second RCROCS endurance race. Bigelow Motorsports would like to thank of its sponsors for the support in 2009.; Bulldog Winch, IronClad Energy and Hydration, Appalachian Offroad, Mopar Super Center, Maxxis Tires, Raceline Wheels, FOA Shocks, PSC Steering, Yukon Axle and Gear, Premier Racing Products, Powertank, Soltek-Baja Designs, Rock Racing Batteries, Tom Woods Drive Shafts, Custom Aluminum Radiators, Zamp Helmets, Branik Machine and Stage 8 Locking Fasteners.

NissanTiger 09-30-2009, 11:15 AM Nice vids, thanks for dropp'n them here. With the rock buggies going right before, and the V8's right after my class, I didn't get to see any of this action...
NissanTiger 10-01-2009, 09:25 AM Hey, anyone know how they figured the points in V8 class??? I know Jeremy Krone in the BoogerHog got a 1st place 2nd round, and a 2nd place in the 3rd round, and won several heat races... Jeremy missed the first round, but I think the 14 truck sat out a round because he broke first heat? Just wondering how that all added up???

Thanks, I didn't get any of your class because I was back in the pits.
NissanTiger 10-09-2009, 02:03 PM I'm going to try to piece together the results from all three rounds of NJXOR into once place, since I haven't been able to find them all together anywhere on the web. This is compiled both from the New Egypt Speedway website, and the NJXOR website.
I think I see why Jeremy Crone didn't win the V8 championship, the finishing order in the last feature race is really screwed up, along with the description of that race... (Crone was chasing down the leader the last few laps of the race) But they don't even list Jeremy Crone as finishing that race? WTF? Jeremy Crone finished 2nd in the feature Sept 26th. A 1st in July, and a 2nd in Sept should have given Jeremy Crone the 2009 NJXOR V8 Baja Class Championship...

NJXOR Extreme Racing Ends Season At New Egypt Speedway
New Egypt, NJ (September 26, 2009) – The NJXOR Extreme Racing series ended its
season Saturday, September 26, at New Egypt Speedway. Pro Buggy driver Bob Klaus of Freehold, NJ dominated the division all night to claim the victory and the division’s season championship. Klaus led for all but one lap of the feature event surrendering the lead briefly to second place finisher Dave Lofland after the only battle for the lead all evening on lap four. After recapturing the lead on lap 5, Klaus went on to pull away from Lofland and dominate the remaining laps of the event. Rounding out the top five in the Pro Buggy feature was Dustin Pittman of Jefferson Hills, PA; Tom Suralo of Mays Landing, NJ; and Tom Hood of Ashland, PA.
Also in action on Saturday night were the 8 Cylinder Trucks, 4 and 6 Cylinder Truck, and Rock Buggy divisions. Michael Chavette of Ellington, CT visited Victory Lane for the 8 Cylinder Trucks after then-leader Jeremy Crone lost the lead on the final lap after hitting the last jump with his front bumper and breaking going into the final turn. Chavette had been fighting Crone for the top stop for the final 5 laps of the event and took over the lead after Crone’s troubles.
In the 4 and 6 Cylinder Truck division Scott Morrison of Browns Mills, NJ dominated the event taking the lead in the first turn on the first lap and never looking back. While facing no serious challenge for the lead in the 10-lap feature event, Morrison finished a full straight away ahead of runner-up JW Scherm of Beachwood, NJ. As Morrison captured the victory, Jeff Semmelrock of Willington, CT was crowned the 4 and 6 Cylinder Truck champion.
After a hard fought battle in their second heat event that turned into their feature event, Doug Bigelow captured the victory and championship in the Rock Buggy division. Bigelow was challenged for the lead briefly by competitor Lou Levy who found himself stuck in the final rock hurdle and on fire. However, Levy quickly got out of his buggy and extinguished the fire himself, but was done for the evening.
Pro Buggy Feature Finish (10 laps):
1. Bob Klaus 2. Dave Lofland 3. Dustin Pittman 4. Tom Suralo 5. Tom Hood 6. Tim Craley 7. David Maoara 8. Henry Malaty
8 Cylinder Truck Feature Finish (10 laps):
1. Michael Chavette 2. Brad Eroh 3. Scott Smith 4. Bill Williams 5. Jeremy Dietrich 6. Chad Kohler 7. Kenny Dean
4 and 6 Cylinder Truck Feature Finish (10 laps):
1. Scott Morrison 2. JW Scherm 3. Jeff Semmelrock 4. Rich Barlow 5. Corey Amandson 6. Tom Tesi 7. Scott Kohler 8. Rene Carmenaty
Rock Buggy Feature Finish (4 laps):

1. Doug Bigelow 2. Anthony Russo 3. Dan Smith 4. Lou Levy
Hey thanks a lot man just trying to get everything settled with next year but I guess we have a new spokesperson for njxor 2010 huh? Thanks again for a great season also summited a press release to dirt sports magazine hopefully it gets published next month or the following month
NissanTiger 10-09-2009, 02:53 PM Hey, I think you all did a great job for a first year of promotion racing... I'm not knocking it a bit. As long as you keep having races, I'll be there, as long as my truck (or me) isn't broken.
If there's anything I can do to help, just yell... I pretty good at keeping my mouth shut, until it opens :flipoff2:

Well I just wanted to point out that Brad Eroh didn't finish the last feature race on 9/26 although he's listed as placing 2nd. It was Jeremy Crone who finished 2nd that race, and that is why I believe he should have been the 2009 V8 champ. I know that neither of those drivers would like to win unfairly, so I hate to see them lose unfairly, they're both great racers.

I understand what you are saying but we also went off on who was and competed from the beginning so that is where we had gotten our champions from. Next year there will be point based system so no connfusion on any of that stuff. Thanks for pointing that out
NissanTiger 10-14-2009, 11:53 AM Good deal on the press release. Hope you can get them out to a race next year for some first hand coverage. Did you consider contacting Lucas about an On The Edge episode? That would be great exposure!

rocdril 10-16-2009, 03:15 AM Any news on next years schedule? I am trying to figure out what races we can make, and dont want to miss any in New Egypt.
NissanTiger 10-20-2009, 09:20 AM I will be launching a new site here soon, so they will get posted on the new site. Hope to transfer as much of the old stuff over as I can too. Just out of time this week with leaving for Farmington here soon. After Farmington I will get stuff up.
BUMP!
Just wondering if there are any pics up yet? If so, would appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction...
Thanks

I will get with Dean to get some more pics up also not looking good for 2010 unless I find another place which its in the works but not promising. New Egypt is not holding the events next year. I refuse to work with them in the future. I am sorry to announce this but I hope to have some better news in the next couple weeks Thanks Jason
rocdril 10-25-2009, 04:49 AM Thanks Jason, Keep us informed.

Damn sorry to hear that, for you and the racers involved... I can't understand why we can't get short course off road racing going on the east cost. Just a shame... :( Well, I'm still hoping for the best, there's got to be a way to get it done!

DOUG38S 10-26-2009, 02:40 PM Grass roots is how it needs to happen and almost at a place where the track owner doesnt need to make a ton to make it happen.
What about a couple of those places in PA people were talkin about. Billy's or something like that.
zachv 10-26-2009, 02:49 PM I bet it is all about the insurance. Grass Roots is fine until you have an issue where there is an insurance claim and then you better have a bunch behind you. The race tracks like NES already carry the insurance so it is no big deal for them, but if you go to Billy Bobs dirt track it needs to be legit.
If you guys want to race maybe you need to get in with the Tough Trucks sanctions and see if they would allow you to run head-to-head versus their one-at-a-time method.
Either that, Jason, or maybe you could approach Line Mountain and see if you could develop a new class like Dave and Jeff did with Ultra Four. Or, just work with Hammerking and RCORP and team up and see what you guys can do together on the East Coast.
griportip4x4 10-26-2009, 02:59 PM Well Zach its really not to do with the insurance at all its to do with the track owners not making enough MONEY. Even though myself and the sponsors put out the money with nothing going into our pockets but the track not only made money off of competitors but also the front gate. It was bs but I do have the love of the sport and willing to spend more to make it more popular here on the east coast its just bs that NES first said definatley for next year and than came back and said no. CONFUSING managment over there. I am going to keep trying but not looking good for 2010 and I am willing to front the money for insurance and possibly some land leasing
zachv 10-26-2009, 03:07 PM What I meant was trying to find another place that does not already have insurance for that use structure. I know you had pains with NES, that is a different story. I can see their side, too, I guess. I would not open up my track on a Saturday to get 100 spectators either if I had to turn a profit. Even if they were making money with it, it may not have been enough for their business plan so without me knowing the details I can't blame them for pulling the plug.
How do the quad guys get to use the Pinelands for Hare Scrambles, etc.? Whatever happened to the land in Chatsworth? They used to race there and I actually saw an off-road race listed in a magazine a few years ago.
NissanTiger 10-28-2009, 01:32 PM I know a guy that was part of the admin at Chatsworth ORV, from what he told me it was the Pine Lands Commision that shut them down. They had the support of the state and the local community, NJ had set aside funds for it, but the long arm of the Pine Lands Commission went against it's own word that it would supply them with an alternate site when they put a plan in place to shut down the existing site. So once the current lease expired, the ORV was gone...
So, basically, tree huggers shut the place down. So even though all of us who pay taxes and wish to enjoy the outdoors through motorsports, we don't have equal access to public lands because we're not "green" enough, or organized enough. Seems to me there's plenty of public land, and a certain percentage should be available for motorsports activities. And they'd still have plenty of trees to hug in their areas.
But, I'm rambling...
However, there are places in PA you might consider. One place we used to race in EC4WDA it was in conjunction with a fire department. Since the FD had it's own insurance for it's own purposes on its grounds, and proceeds from the races held there were used as fund raising for the FD, the events were covered under their policy... It was good for both parties, and the FD wasn't quite as "greedy" or to be more polite, not as "profit modivated" as a track owner might be... And you didn't have a problem with fire/rescue availablity either... So, just throwing that out there as a possibility.
You might contact Line Mountain (7 miler), they have a large plot of land, plenty of parking, no grandstands though, and it's quite a drive from most places.
And maybe Big Als (near Line Mountain). Privately owned track, we do wheel to wheel racing there, but it's been mostly flat and no jumps. But, maybe you could work out something there. Still a long ways from most everywhere though.
And there's Rausch Creek...
TTR
DozerDan 10-28-2009, 02:52 PM It still in the works, but a little birdy told me about something that may or may not be happening in the not so distant future in the PA area.
Gonna be run a bit different, but it is in the works.
So if nothing else we may just have to wait a lil while. Hopefully we can get something going for next season on the east coast though. definately awesome racing.
griportip4x4 10-28-2009, 03:21 PM Well just to let everyone know I am looking at different angles right now I am not saying NJXOR is out for good but might take some time to get done what I am working on for the future things changed over night and working plans out but will not mess with any of the scheduling I will work around all other dates Thanks again Jason

I know they are running a series out there this year but it is straight up go fast racing which isnt bad but there turns are pretty good turns and ock buggies might have to use smaller tires but they are running a series out there. Doug you plan on running Lion Mountain?
rocdril 11-02-2009, 12:46 PM What ever happened to the round 3 pics? I keep checking Deans web site but nothing new. Did he change web sites or are they posted somewhere else?

He told me he was setting up a new website when I talked to him at round 3. It will allow you to do editing of the pics before you buy them, and will make his job a lot easier getting the pics up, and getting them done to send out. But he said he'd being doing that mostly over the winter months.
I know this isn't his only gig, I'm sure he'll get them up as soon as he can. I'm pretty interested in seeing some pics too, and I think he shot some video with his new camera. I think it will be worth the wait.

I'm still in the process of setting up the new website... I have had to re-learn the sales side of it with the new retail site (still a little quirky on the back end, but so far everyone that's used the front end has said it's easier to use and 100x faster than the old one) As for the rest of the new website, I am/was working with a pro-web designer friend of mine that just took on one too many projects this fall and have been waiting patiently on him.
At any rate... Drop me a PM with your class and rig # and I can see what I got.
And I do sincerely apologize for the delay... it was a busy fall and launching of the new retail site means going back and redoing a year's worth of events... this year's total was damn near 30,000 photos.

Sorry, forgot, the all me, right now generation...

Zach the harescrambles you are refering to was the Atlantic Grand Prix series that I raced in 2008. There were 2 sand mines, one in Forked River area and one on LBI, that the promotor (Dale Fretis) worked with the owners and communities to hold the races at. Each race was $40 per racer with $10 donation (local F.D. usually) at the gate. The races were 3rd Sunday of every month from April to November I believe. The series only had one race this year, due to land permit issues and community approvals (noise, dust, traffic, ect... these events were big). It really sucks, was a fun series and Dale put a ton of work into it to make it what it was.
Here is some more information on it http://www.atlanticgrandprix.com/
Chattsworth was a state-run facility that was a complete DUMP and was supposed to be closed at the end of 2008. I rode there once for an hour, packed it in and went to Glidden's. The place was overpriced, poorly groomed, the staff was rude, it opened 2 hours late (heard this was common), half the trails were closed, and the ATV's were not allowed on the big track. It was the only legal riding area in the whole state and to be honest, I'm glad it's gone. Hopefully now something better can be developed to replace it.
Jason if you haven't already, I would get a hold of Dale Fretis and see if he can offer any advice.

Well here is the deal NJXOR is on hold . I have heard New Egypt will be possibly have an event of some sort which NJXOR has nothing to do with it. Bob Klaus and his little entourage is kissing the owners butt to race there so I will bring some rock guys to race in the respected class:flipoff2:
Well I have to say dont count on NJXOR this year but most Definitely for 2011. Thanks Jason
rocdril 12-19-2009, 03:27 AM Anyone know of other tracks or event in the Northest, that have Baja style racing? I know of Big Als, and Southwick, there must be more places in PA. Where did you guys race before New Egypt?
Its gonna suck having a truck all dressed up w/nowhere to go for 2010.
