: Who wants a free trailer?
Drunk tank 09-09-2009, 06:58 PM Heres the deal... I bought a M105A2 trailer from Govliquidation.com and im supposed to pick it up at Fort Riley, KS on friday.
http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=2512378
But... after seeing one of these in person the other day and doing some more research I dont want to deal with the headache of going to KS as this thing wont fit my needs very well. First person to call dibs gets it.... only catch is you have to go to Fort Riley and pick it up yourself if I can manage to sign a piece of paper to make it happen.
GO!
misterfubar 09-09-2009, 07:02 PM This is really tempting, but I really have no use for one.
ETA: It's probably one of the ones we just turned in 6 months ago when we finally got rid of them.
muddawg95yj 09-09-2009, 07:03 PM Wish I was closer. It wouldn't be worth what it would cost me in fuel.

x2. it would make a great firewood gettin' trailer but not worth the probably 350 gallons of gas it would take to go get it:laughing:
Never Monday 09-09-2009, 07:14 PM does it have to be picked up on Friday?
Vortec_Cruiser 09-09-2009, 07:34 PM You need a deuce and a half to pull that monster. :D
Azzy2000 09-09-2009, 07:44 PM Those trailers are not very desireable unless you have a deuce to pull it behind. Even then they bring the suck.. especially when trying to back them up.. with no power steering to boot.
Not bad for free though :D
Drunk tank 09-09-2009, 08:18 PM does it have to be picked up on Friday?
I imagine I can reschedule it and i'd have to do some paperwork for someone else to pick it up.
Drunk tank 09-09-2009, 08:19 PM x2. it would make a great firewood gettin' trailer but not worth the probably 350 gallons of gas it would take to go get it:laughing:
Ya... it would cost me more in diesel to pick it up than what the damn thing costs!
D_JEEPER 09-09-2009, 08:28 PM how much can you get for it at the scrap yard?
:D
misterfubar 09-09-2009, 08:37 PM how much can you get for it at the scrap yard?
:D
They weigh almost a ton and a half...
I might even be out at Riley on Friday, but I don't think it will be appropriate for me to tow that trailer home with a GSA minivan.
D_JEEPER 09-09-2009, 08:43 PM unless its to the nearest scrapper....
bamatj51 09-09-2009, 09:14 PM If somebody here doesn't want it, I'm sure some folks on steelsoldiers would jump all over it.
rockmup 09-10-2009, 05:12 AM Just to make you feel better, last year I bought 4, 5t rockwells. Drove them out of the gate at Fort Polk and by the time I made it to Baton Rouge I took them right to the scrap yard. What was I thinking.
More than paid for themselves and the gas but WTF.
Good luck with the trailer, I actually want it. lol
Chris 09-10-2009, 08:36 AM Isn't the hitch about three feet off the ground? Seems like all the ones I have seen are TALL.

It's been a while since I knocked myself out on one, but I think they are closer to 4 foot when sitting level.
cinco 09-10-2009, 11:19 AM Yep, used behind 2.5 and 5 ton with matching wheels - used air brakes as well if memory serves me correctly...
Could make a great utility trailer if:
1. replace axle with off the shelf "Dexter" type with your choice of wheel pattern + elec. brakes
2. swap in full size p/u leafs
Cost about $200 if you buy the axle, perches and hangers (might be able to reuse hangers) and junkyard the leafs...
Just a bigger version of the M101s...
Dieselmh 09-10-2009, 01:08 PM I wish I could get it. :( I need a good strong trailer to pull behind my tractor for hauling limbs, cut up trees, etc. :(
schaan 09-10-2009, 03:06 PM anyone got dibs on this yet?
