a slinger can go on a pinion gear under the bearings to ensure oil flow gets to the pinion bearings. a deflector (as spicer calls it) is a light press fit on to the stub axle and holds the spindle seal in place.

Thanks for the info the stubs I saw had deflectors on them, do most TTBs not use the deflectors?

uhhh i remeber the TTB stubs being about 2 inch shorted then a real D44, you might want to doubble check
