What is needed to mount a 300 flipped to the 3550? Ive searched and it seems that I can get away with a simple clocking ring designed for a flipped 300. I cannot however find what thickness clocking ring I need if it matters at all and if I am going to run into a problem with not having a long enough input. Also, does anyone know which clocking ring allows the 300 to be flat and not hang down any?
The clocking ring is what gives you the ability to rotate and manipulate the case for a flat belly...

I'm running Go2Guy's clocking ring on my flipped 300 behind my NV3550. No issues at all. Search his handle on here and shoot him a PM getting a quote for one.

The couple of clocking rings that I have seen for a flipped 300 only have an extra hole or two and not the normal 4 or 5 that you would have in most clocking rings. I wanted to make sure that with the fewer holes there isnt a problem with clocking it flat.

Go2Guy's has I believe 3 different clocking positions. It will lay it flat that's for sure. I believe it was only 3/8" thick.

I have my 3550 mated to a non-flipped D300 with just a clocking ring(otherwise it hangs down stupid low... the case is at like 45 degrees... ridiculous). Obviously you'll need to specify that the clocking ring needs to flip it but other than that nothing needed as far as I know.

I redrilled 3 holes in my 3550 and bolted the 300 in up side down, then built shifters.
