Just wanted to thank all the buttheads for pushing the search
feature.... took a little looking, but eventually solved my problem.
The problem was that every time I filled up, (beyond 4 or 5 gals)
my 40 spit coughed and puked. I could watch the tank (poly)pulse
as it went into and out of a vacuum. The solution ?
replace the charcol cannister, as it was too small, low
and or saturated.
Anyway, replaced with the proper Chevy one $45 :( , but at least
alls well..... one happy 350 TBI !!!

now one question... wrt to aux tanks, I'm looking, but has anyone
tried putting a (dare I say it).... a jeep replacement tank ?
they are plentiful various sizes are available, and inexpensive.....

I just recently also did the TBI. I don't want to use my aux tank due to rust (had to change the fuel filter at least every tank). I saw a tank on a Cherokee in the local boneyard. Looks like it would fit, it has a skid plate , and it has an injection pump and return line built in! I bet it also has the reservoir so the pickup tube stays in fuel. (I built a "surge" tank for the feed from my main tank) I believe they are 18 gallon.

the buttheads thank you for thanking us...or something like that...;-)

I've also looked at tanks from Early Broncos...might work.

I'm going with a fuel cell for mine...haven't ordered yet, awaiting other projects.
