??? I am guessing 250-270 if it fresh. This will vary by cam, intake and carb. The 390 back the was good for around 320 if memory serves me.

Yea maybe 200 horse in stock form. Made better torque numbers. Also, a 360, or an FE engine for that matter is NOT a big block engine. It belongs to the FE engine family. The only BB is the 385 series engine family with is 370-429-460

Bullshit. FE's are the same width, height, and only 2" shorter length than a 385 series.

Physical sise has nothing to do with rather or not its a Big block. The 351M and 400 are close in size but are not BBs either. There just the 335 series engine family. Family being the key word there!

Indeed. The "big block" and "small block" terms are designated GM, like Posi (and Ford is Limited Slip). Ford actually uses the different families to classify their engines. I believe that Dodge did the same as Ford.

Pick a number

Up until 1971, Ford used Gross HP ratings. The 360 was advertised as 215 HP @ 4,400 RPM.

From 1972 on Net HP rating were used and the advertised numbers were 196 HP @ 4,000 RPM.

The VIN plate on my '69 says certified net HP is 175 HP @ 4,000 RPM.

I guess HP would be somewhere between 175-215 HP @ 4,000-4,400 RPM.

Torque was advertised as 350 lbft @ 2,400 RPM for all 360's.
