PSA: My 93 K3500 454 with Whipple superchargered TBI started running intermittently bad a couple weeks ago, it would run fine, then start to miss and would die if I didn't rapidly press the throttle up and down.
So I searched a bunch, read a bunch, OBDed it, swapped out the ecm and got a new cap and rotor (they were pretty worn), and it would run ok for a bit then fuck up again.
Hooked up my home welded together fuel filter fuel pressure guage adapter and the fuel pressure was good, ran Heet and 44K through it, still not right.
I was watching the spray from the injectors and one of them cut off and it started to run like crap again, so I jiggled the wires to it and it sprayed again.
Pulled a spare injector off a parts motor and when I went to install it, I noticed that the contacts in the wire harness plug for the injector seemed pretty far apart. So I bent them back to where they were a tight fit on the injector terminals and tada- mother effer ran perfectly.
I towed a junk car to the wrecker 10 minutes later and it never faltered.:smokin:

Those pigtails are a stocking part at just about every parts store I know. One good backfire and they're usually toast.

Cool. I'll look them up. It wasn't difficult to bend them back.

Could be the injectors or the wires to them. Take off the aircleaner and see if you can see both injectors spraying evenly.

Did he test the fuel pressure? How old is the fuel filter?

yes i did,and the presure was good, and the filter is brand new.the fuel presure was 13psi. i'm kinda at a lost,i don't want to wast money thruoghing patrs at it,i also checked all the sensors, with a oahm tester, all good,if it isn't the fuel pump then i'm thinking the computer.

I just replaced my fuel pressure regulator (the one that sends fuel for 2 seconds with the key on, mounts to the firewall). Driving to work today the truck started stalling at stop signs and sudden releases of the throttle. So I started driving with two feet and as long as I kept the rpms around 900 the truck would not stall. My guess is that the oil pressure sensor at the top of the block is bad and when the pressure gets below 10 or 15 lbs it sends a signal to the ECM to shut the engine down. I better check my oil too, it might be a little low!
