: Frame swap instead of axles and engine swap

This is a question for anyone that wants to chime in. I see a bunch of guys with m715 doing 4bt swaps and other diesel swaps. Instead of buyine a engine and tranny and transfer case would it be cheaper and easier to just swap the cab and bed onto a ram 2500. I know you would have to cut the frame up and modify it but it seems more economical to take a truck that already has a diesel and maby one with a nv4500 and dana 60. The other plus for doing this is the power steering, nice brakes and suspension. I was thinking about getting a late 90's dodge with a diesel and swaping a m715 cab onto it.

major part of any swap such as you speak of is wiring... not gonna get around that doing a cab swap

Yeah I would probably get a stand alone harness, or just try to have the truck running and start cutting wires that I dont need. If the truck cuts off then re connect that wire.

that will work for engine stuff but what about wiring for everything else? and that would take forever it would be much easier just to plan out the wiring instead of guess and check
