Have you all seen these killer steering stabilizers yet? My DRZ gets to worbeling a bit above about 75MPH and I've been considering buying a steering dampener for it. The problem is that they are like $400.00 + dollars for a Scott's or the others I've checked into. Then you have to buy the bracketry too!

Now this one here looks like one I might be willing to drop that kind of change on. It's a whole replacement upper triple clamp with 4 way adjustable on the fly dampening! It even has a handle bar mounted thumb adjuster.

Have a look at this trick little device. :smokin:

go with the scotts its worth it, no other stabalizer can match it and it costs less then the one your looking at.

And just wondering how is your dr-z getting above 75 my buddies wont go that fast, what you got done to it? dual sport model?

Yes my DRZ is an '02 S model with 15/44 gearing. It would do better than 95MPH with those gears. I recently went to a 47 tooth rear sprocket to slow it down a bit and get more torque for forest riding.

I've added an E series ehaust system and the dyno jet kit for the carb. I also drilled the atmospheric equalization holes in the slide and went with a softer slide return spring for quicker throttle response.

I bought a 40mm pummper carb for it too, but it hasn't arrived from merry old England yet! Can't wait to get that fawker bolted on! Come awn.

I plan on changing the base gasket to an e series too. Also E series cams and black box to get 500 more RPM out of it.

It should GET IT even more after those mods. Still kicking around the Wiesco one ringer too.;)

With all your doing why is that thing not stroked yet?

Scotts all the way. Less $$$ than that one and you can just keep it for the next bike you get and the next bike you get and the next bike you get, You get it dont you ?. And the Scotts is adjustable on the fly also.

O.K. well it looks like the Scotts is a bit cheaper, and is more versitle since it's transferable. I wasn't aware that the Scotts have on the fly adjustability. Looks like I have a bit more home work to do.

One more  for you all. On the DRZ S model it looks like my gauge cluster will be in the way. I guess this is probably a  better directed to the folks at Scott's Mfg..

Thanx.

you can order the scotts forward of the cross bar or trailing.

if clearance is an issue the WER mounts up on the front fender. and it's adjustable but you have to stop to adjust it.

Thanx for the info Hawaii!

Hey when are we going to go riding? Do you have any good spots up your way? I usually ride after work everyday up behind Aptos since the forest is right across from my buds shop/garage.

He's got a Foreman 4x4 and a ATC which is a freaking blast to ride. I had forgotten how slideways you can get on an ATC. Brakes? We don't need no stinkin' brakes. Just throw it slideways 'round the corners and get it.

i'm acually going this weekend to sand mountain. maybe next month. towards the end. i got to work on the wifey's truck(new motor) then i am going to work the jack hammer enduro. but i'm down for a ripping session in aptos.

i never knew it was legal to ride anywhere in santa cruz county. aren't there bunches of hippies chasing you down trying to linch you?

Whatever you do do not get a wer dampner you might as well stick a rancho shock from your frame to the handlebars.

Anyways scotts makes a relocation plate for your bike or seeing its rediculously easy you could make one.

Just dont buy a WER!!!!!!!!

Forgive me, I should have said thank you all! Not just Hawaii. So thank you all for sharing you knowledge of steering dampeners.

I appreciate it. ;)

O.K. so the Wer's are "Wer"thless. So that would leave the Scott's or a knock off of their design as the best choice. I guess I should start trying to find the lowest price on one and the bracketry for a trailing mount.

Does the Scott adjust on the fly set up cost extra too like the RTT one? Ahh, hell nevermind I'm going to start surfing for the info. after this.

Hawaii, I wasn't aware that it was illegal to ride in SC county. Are you sure? I know years ago we used to ride and wheel past the end of Memory lane, off of China Grade. I think they used to call it Spider mountain. Also there was a fun spot out Kings Creek behind the Mountain store. There's also some trails off the right hand side of Bear Creek almost to the top by the big dirt turn out.

When you get some time to ride PM me. Also do you have a 4 stroke? I don't think my bud's neighbors would care to listen to the two cycle serenade if you know what I mean.

hmmm, i have never heard bad things about the wer's. i have asked dozens of guys on enduro events and they all said they liked them. i haven't ever ran one myself though. i do run a scotts and it kicks a$$.

dog house
i know that you aren't supposed to ride kings creek anymore and anything off of highway 9 is illegal. but that doesn't stop the local kids from riding arouind.
my father used to ride all over out here. they turned some of his favorite trails into bicycle trais he said. he said it got all shut down in the 70's. he grumbles that it's because of the hippies that live in the santa cruz mountains.
i ride a two stroke. cr250 but it is quieter than most modified 4 strokers. i think i ran a 97 dbl on my last event. i'm planing on getting a quieter muffler. i'm gonna try to get down below 95.
