This topic has probably been discussed countless times, however, its hidden quite well. Anyone have any information about swapping out a auto tranny in a 2500 hd, with the 6.0, and tossing in the nv4500? There are not many factory trucks out there, let me rephrase, there are not many luxury package gm 2500 hds out there with the 5 speed, no idea why, this is a great truck to have with one. Anyways, instead of going nuts trying to find one (they are out there just VERY far and few between) I was thinking of just buying a nice automatic SLE model, which i can probably get for cheaper since every time I find one with a 5 speed they ask top dollar for it, find the nv4500 with bell, slave, etc, etc, and have the computer re-flashed for a 5 speed and just doing the dam thing. Since they came behind them from the factory, I cant see this being very hard. However I know nothing about it.
