Starting a new project. Planning on using a th350/241. I have what I believe would be called a long tail 350 with a spacer and adapter to bolt it all up to the 241. The adpater and spacer is around six inches together.

But, I also have a short tail 350 that currently has a 205 adapter on it. This adapter is only about an inch thick. If I could come up with a 241 adapter that is only a inch thick, I could save myself almost five inches of length.

Was this adapter ever made? Novak shows that they have a piece similar to what I am looking for. But, it is for jeep cases. I am also thinking that it might be possible to modify my clocking ring to bolt up to the 205 adapter.

Anybody ever done anything like this?

Am I better off using the long tail? And running a SYE to shorten it up.

im not sure if i got it right, but how about a 700r4-241 adapter? its only about 2 or 3 inches thick. it sounds like it would work if im thinkin straight.

if someone can put some info to that and if it will work, i have one layin around ill sell ya cheap.

I believe that is the adapter that I have. To use the longtail 350 you have to use a spacer and the adapter.

Just trying to figure out if there is a way to use the short tail with just a one inch adapter.

It looks like Novak and JB make an adapter like I am looking for for a 231. But I don't see anything for a 241. And I don't think the two are interchangeable.

At this point I am leaning toward just using the longtail and running a super short SYE. As this will give me nine extra inches to work with.

i know in 81 chevy had th350s mated to np208s. i believe the 241 with the same spline count would bolt up to this as well...i've been known to be wrong tho...

The 1'' thick adaptor is for a 203 t-case

you are correct it is for a 203. Was there ever a similar one inch adapter made for a 241/208?

I run a th350/np241 in my Yukon and yeah you use the stock 700r4 adapter with a spacer between the tranny and adapter. Its about 2-3'' thick. I'm pretty sure the output shaft for the th350 is just a standard 2wd short shaft....?
