I was cruising E-bay this morning and noticed a semi-floater dana 60 that had a flanged end. Just a thought here, as I don't have anything in my hands. Will these 6 hole flanged ends on the 60 bolt up to a front Dana 60 spindle?
Would this be an alternative for making a 30 spline into a 35 spline axle?
OK, shoot me down.....:flipoff2:

I don's see what you saying. I guess you're thinking that you could cut and re-spline the rear shafts if it bolted up? But the spindles doesn't turn.

he wants to make an SF ino a FF ala Warn kit.
you'd have to buy new axle shafts, and pro'ly machine down the spindle idexing collar on the back side to slip in the bore for the bearing. But even if the bolt holes don't line up, it's still a circular 6-bolt (except ford spindles) so you could just rotate the spindle 30* and redrill the holes to hwere you need them and abandon the old ones. be prepared to spend $300 on custom axle shafts

I was thinking of doing this for the rear, using some sort of rear hub and disc assy..
Just a thought.I was wanting this so the spindle that's on my rear doesn't have to be drilled/reamed out. I could just find one of these axles, and buy a pair of spindles and do it....
Gunracer says no...
Gunracer did you try this, or know someone who did???
Thanks for the help,

It will not work without extensive machine work. A chevy 60 spindle is a 6 bolt pattern but not equally spaced. A ford spindle is 5 bolts, also spaced to index. It would be cheaper to buy a 70 or 14 bolt.
