I need a tip on the best/most conveniant quick releaser steering wheel disconnector for a -88 jeep cherokee. Can i buy "anyone" on the market or is it "ONE" that fit`s right on the original set up so to speak?
Figuring it will be harder to steal my ride if it`s got no steeringwheel :D

Thanks for any constructive input.

This is what I use. I just weld the splined adapter to the steering shaft.

When I bought my Jeep it had the GT Grant setup on it. It seems like a pretty basic setup that will fit most vehicles. It works good and I have not had a problem in the 8 years I have had it. It had been on there a few years when I bought it as well. If that is the road you want to go down, I would recommend it. It is not so much a quick release as it is an anti theft setup.

2 suggestions...

1) make sure you buy a good one. theres nothing like having the steering wheel come off in your hands while doing 70 mph on the freeway. not as fun as i thought it would be.

2) take note as to how far out it will extend your wheel. some of them will add 3 inches and depending on your wheel youll end up with a steering wheel in the face all the time.

that being said grant is the only one ive used on a jeep and it wasnt bad.
