Ok, folks, important feedback and notice here.
We'd like to close the Placer County chunk of the trail WEEKDAYS, 6/4-7/15;
and of course, on our work weekends, 8/17-19 and 8/24-26; then again in
Sept. 14-16.
I say start on June 4th, because believe it or not, that's when our first
efforts begin. The County is going to start bringing in fill and stockpile
some material and get things rolling. Some holes will be filled in and a
start made on our repair work. Naturally, we're still working with
Lahontan Water folks to make sure they're on board with our plan. Rebecca
and Sharon are handling this for us and I'm very comfortable with our
arrangement.
First, I need to know if we're ok on this (I hope we are), including the
club runs and commercial trips?
Also, the USFS will be replacing culverts and working on the Barker Pass
road 7/15 - 8/17. So that will close that road temporarily.
We think we've got this coordinated well enough that you will have an exit
from the trail (or entrance).
The dates can be modified- in fact, they already have! I changed the
weekdays for temp. closure to 6/4-7/15 since the USFS will be adding
culverts to Barker Pass starting 7/15 through August 17.
Thursday June 6th is the start of some hand work (tentatively) by local
inmate labor. I know it's a bit of a quick notice, but if anyone might be
around to be there for us, just let me know. I can't make that one as I'll
be in Utah for a conference as it turns out.
Anyway, spread the word about these dates of WEEKDAY and a few WEEKEND
closures of JUST THIS CHUNK of the road.
Let me know if you have some comments for me to share with the group.
thanks, DEL
