So I got a 93 f250 4x4 with the navistar 7.3 non-turbo and e4od. The body is almost rusted off. I thought the bed might fall off on the way home.... The truck was a plow truck in Illinois and only 138k miles on it. The e4od is done(go figure, piece of shit).

Now you know what I got I need help. I want to take the cab and bed off and replace with a cab and bed from a 81 f150. Everything looks like it will line up but I haven't gotten a tape out to check the distance on everything. Does anybody know if it will just swap over?

Another thing I want to know is a straight axle D60 swap. I have seen several threads about it but none that I have found say what years swap and what parts match. Could someone point me in the right way or let me know what will fit and match. I saw a D44 from a f350 of the same year can fit right in but I want a D60. No expense spared... just low balled.

unless somone swapped the axle the 93 F350 will have a balljoint dana 60. Maybe if the owner thinks its a D44 you can steal that too.

The truck I got is a F250. It has the D50 TTB aka IFS on it. I thought the F350 had a D44 under it. I will have to check the junk yards out and see if I can get lucky and find one. Thanks.

Will defiantly check that out. I had not found that site yet. Thanks for the info.

The F350 will definitely have the D60 front unless someone put a 44 in there!! :shaking: Wouldn't make much sense unless the took the 60 for themselves....? I'm pretty positive that at least '89-'97 are for the most part a direct bolt in... you will also need the steering components.... leaf springs?!

Not sure about the body though... I thought that all of the "square" bodies shared the same dimensions and mounting locations.... Not sure about that though.

most of them share the same body location mounts however where the wiring harness plugs into the truck the firewall isnt the same so some cutting is necessary. 1986 F-350 to 97 F-350 should be a direct bolt in for the axles you will need to remove the ttb brackets. And just know that if you bolt the 93s front clip up you will need to keep the cowl as well and the body lines wont quite match up. Ive been happy with my idi however even with a turbo shes not the greatest tow rig.

As said before, all of the body parts should bolt right up. Don't use the 80's front clip with a newer bed. It will just look silly.:homer: The one tons only came with a D60. Why put a half ton axle under a one ton vehicle? Oh wait, let's ask Chevrolet about their 10 bolt with one ton outers. :shaking: Do yourself a favor and do the normal thing and make a bunch of indiviually marked ziplock baggies for your nuts and bolts. I did the front clip replacement on my 92 and there's just about ZERO bolts the same. Also, the bed isn't going to be a 2 person job. Go ahead and buy a case of beer and call 4 or five of your buddies to help, you'll need it. IDEA: check your fuel pump and screens to make sure everything is working properly before putting it all back together. It would be such an unfortunate pain to have to remove it again.

if you're gunna use LMC for little parts then you'd better have a good job. these trucks are a dime a dozen. go to a junk yard.

all the body mounts are the same 80-96/7, f150-f350 for a given cab size.

f250 of that year will have IFS. a ford D60 from 86?-97 will bolt in. you should get the leaves from the D60 donor. they are softer, but still suck.

match front clip to cab or else you get all screwed up. unless you change the cowl with the front clip too.

D44 front (except TTB) hasn't come in a ford since '79.

Thanks so much. All this info has been great. To make everything easier I beleave I am going to try and find a 92 to 96 f350 4x4 with blown gas burner and blown trans so I will have everything I need. I don't have a shop just a muddy spot under all the trees so this will probably be a project to finish next summer. Thanks again for all the answer they have helped a lot.

Good luck with that. I been looking for years. They don't come cheap.

invest in alot of penatrating lube (pb blaster) and spray as many bolts a couple times in the week before tearing the body down.
