First, I read a bunch of posts on here about brakes(mostly 1 ton stuff) and didn't find what I'm looking for.
My Jeep:
92 YJ
79 F150 axle swap
D44 HP factory discs
9" Currie HP custom 35 spline axles factory drums
With the axles none of the bolt on kits will work so I'm looking at the Ruffstuff generic weld on disc brackets. They use a 3/4 ton GM caliper.
Do you think there will be a mismatch/problem using the 3/4 calipers in back with the 1/2 ton in front?
What 5x5.5 rotors bolt on without turning the axles?
Also planning on running the Vette or Marquis MC with a universal disc/disc prop valve.
Any recommendations?

Under "tech", in Pirate, there are tech articles that would be very useful to you in adding rear discs to your 9". Look here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/14b_disc_brakes/
While the discussion is ostensibly for 1-tons, the info on caliper mounts and set-up are the same. There is also another brake write-up with everything you need to know about brakes to evaluate what you need.
I think "true" 3/4-ton calipers on the rear would create a brake imbalance with the 1/2-ton front calipers you are using. I would not put larger calipers on the rear than you have on the front; remember, the fronts are responsible for ~60% of your braking. You generally need a proportioning valve in the rear brake circuit to reduce pressure to the rear during hard braking.
You can buy/make your own bolt-on or weld on caliper mounts, to fit either the GM "1/2-ton" calipers (example: '79 Caddy Eldorado), or the smaller GM "metric" calipers (example: '80-'85 Caddy Eldorado, with 2.12 bore piston).
I used '94 Ford F150 front rotors (5-5.5) for my rears. They fit over my AlloyUSA axles, but the center hole is too large, and I used a custom machined "centering" ring to center the rotors. The rotors are 1.018 thick, which fit my Eldorado calipers.
I believe there are other routes to get discs on to your 9". You may need to search "Ford 9 inch" +"disc brakes". (from Google search:" put disc on my 72 Bronco Front & Rear. For the Ford 9" I bought the kit from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard ($295), it bolts on. Took me about 30 minutes a side to change. Need to buy G.M. single piston calipers (get them loaded) and they will have the pads too. If you want the e-brake, buy rear calipers from a 79-85 Eldorado, Riviera, or Tornado. I believe I have about $375 into my 9" axle, but it stops on a dime with 35" tires'). It's possible Ford explorer rear discs will bolt up with minimal mods; however, these brakes use a solid rotor, which I personally do not like. On the other hand, their e-brake set-up is probably better than the Cad's.
