I got a chevy 60 front compleate and 14 FF compleate for $325 Canadian....The 60 has the 1.7" tapered shafts too...Of course I had to put new u-joints/pads/rotors/calipers/bearings on. Just gotta look really hard and find someone who don't know what it's worth...

how many spindle bolts?
5 is a ford.

There really is a lot missing. you're looking at alot more than $400 in service parts and replacment items. I'd pass on it.

Aggro's right. That's a drivers drop HP60 from a Ford.

See if you can get it for $150-$200 and I'll buy it from you for $250

Actually, with nothing in the pic to guage the scale it looks like the Ford F-250 HP Dana 44 I just picked up, only with king pins. Ford did make some funky king pin Dana 44's, but I'm going to assume that the guy can tell the diff (sorry) between a 60 and a 44, of course if he thought that thing was a Chevy passenger drop low pinion......I say Ford, High Pinion, Driver's drop for sure, and my first guess on that pic says Dana 44 with kingpins, but I'm not up on Dana 60's anyway, would need to see the joint next to a 297x, or the cover next to a Dana 44 cover without seeing it in person. I just paid $75 for a '78 F-250 HP Dana 44 with about the same amount of stuff missing, but it has ball-joints.

The style / shape of the inner knuckle (the "C") says 60 to me, no?

You guys keep arguing it

Sceep- If you don't want it please PM or email me with the info for it or the guy (I asked first :p ). I would like a HP60 housing for out back and have friends who would like one for a 5 on 5.5 front so the brakes and hubs aren't necessary. TIA

Yeah, I thought the same, but it just doesn't look big enough, maybe it a photo illusion, I have that problem, the camera adds the ten pounds it took off my johnson to my gut. Does anybody know what the end fordgings for the mythical king-pin Dana 44 look like? I'm sure it's a 60....but if the guy thought it was a passenger drop, standard rotation spring under 60 because it was upside down....He's probably running a high pinion 14-bolt that goes backwards in drive.

I'm gonna say driver side pumkin seeing as the axle is upside down and is out of a FORD.

Most definitely a HP, DS drop. Look at the kingpin cap thingys, the flat ones are supposed to be on the bottom, but they are on the top in the pic. The tall ones with the grease fitting are on the bottom in the pic, but they are supposed to be on the top.

As for 44 vs 60, I am going to say 60. Using the sway bar end links as a reference, they look to be roughly the same length as the 60 pig from yoke to front cover. On my Ford 60, the end links [i]used to be[/] to be roughly that same length (proportionally) as the ones in the pic. (My sway bar is now on the junk pile beside the garage, as it should be. :D ) So, one could deduct that the pig in that pic is roughly "60 sized". Not much else in there to use as a reference.

I think it's a 60 because I can't see a spring pad welded to the driver side....it looks machined
