: Official thread for posting pics of your trailer WITH prices...
I havent seen much of anything about trailer pricing on here. I figured I would start an official thread (if I can do that:confused: )
Anyway, try and post pics but if you dont have them be sure and give a decent description of it.
(I forkin hate how they don't have prices on their web sites  )

16', wooden deck, 83" between the fenders, diamond steel fenders that can be driven over, double 3600# axles (one w/ brakes), 225/75r15 tires on steel wheels.
I paid $800 for it from a friend back in 1998, and it was 1 yr. old then and he paid $1250 for it custom built (wider).
Oxjockey 09-19-2002, 03:42 PM http://www.dana60.com/images/trailer.jpg
Paid $1850 for it last month. It's an 89 with Budd wheels, new brakes, fresh paint & deck, & two 5,000 axles.

Tube frame, rear storing ramps, primered and painted, front bump stop, sealed beam lights, lots of stake pockets, brakes on all four corners, 7k GVW... $1995
10 year structual warranty, 1 year on components... tires, wheels, coupler, wiring, axles, brakes....
TNScrambler 09-19-2002, 10:16 PM I dont' have any pictrues of the trailer yet cause I just got it yesterday.....but anyway here are the details.
18' x 7' Ridgeline.....16' flat with 2' dove and a full 84" inbetween the diamond plate steel fenders that are tough, they didn't even budge with the 42's roled over them. Preasure Treated wood decking, fold up ramps, two 3500 pound axles with brakes on one axle. 15x6 steel wheels and radial tires, also a break-a-way box to make the DOT happy. And made with 6in. channel.
When I called to check prices I was quoted $1750. I went down there and measured the deck on a 16x7 ($1650) and it was only 82", so I asked if he could get one a full 7' (84") wide.....so he called the manufactor (about 50 miles away) and checked, they said that they had just made one 16' flat 2' dove and a full 84" wide, hadn't even painted it yet. So he told me that he could have it there the next day for me to check out, and asked if I bought it what color would I want it, so I told him black to match my truck. So I came back the next day checked it out, it measured a full 84" inbetween fenders and brand spanky new.... The owner came back out and said if I wanted it he would sell it to me for $1400, so I paid the man and hooked it to the truck. Also, I will probably take it back to him to have brakes installed on the other axle.....he charges $150 all parts and labor installed.....the cheapest I've found to just buy the parts and install myself was $184.
10-4,
Justin

Does that bang around alot with the pintle on it?
Oxjockey 09-20-2002, 07:14 AM So far so good. I've only towed it a couple of times, and I don't have the brake controller in my truck yet, so it's hard to tell for sure how it'll be with a load on and with brakes.
I thought I'd hate it immensely, but to be honest, I don't mind it enough to change.

I've towed a similar trailer recently. Unloaded it's a really rough ride. Loaded, it's not that bad- will feel a bit of a clunk when accelerating from a stop.

CrazyHorse 09-26-2002, 11:15 PM 28' deck, 96" wide, 32" deck height 37' OAL gooseneck, 2 8,000 lb dexter axles with brakes, paid $1750 used in 2001, the trailer is an 89 holden, and may be for sale this summer, as I'm thinking about building my own low deck trailer (so I can haul the BOSS 302 also), as it won't load onto this one...
postal 09-27-2002, 06:26 AM Gooseneck, low bed, 30 ft. of deck, two 7K torsion axles w/12" brakes, 8 lug wheels, diamond plate fenders strong enough to drive on, ~82" between fenders, wood deck, ramps store under rear behind doors, two jacks at front, breakaway brakes, all sealed lights. Had a friend build it all new and he did it for under $4K. Have a truck camper up front, and 19 ft. of deck left for toys. Really like how it turned out. The low deck keeps the camper way lower than if it was in the truck bed, which really cut the wind drag. Plus I don't have to load & unload that damn camper anymore.:bounce2:

I'm working on it. Don't have a digital camera, but I did take a regular pic of it months ago that my wife hasn't gotten developed yet. Then I'll have to see about getting it scanned... I'll remind her to get it developed.
It does make a great setup if you take regular weekend wheeling trips. Sometimes I just take the Jeep, sometimes I'll take the Jeep, dirt bike, son's quad, and a generator/welder, all behind the camper. Other times, a bunch of us will take a load of dirt bikes somewhere and split the fuel cost, makes a cheap trip. A couple months ago, I had the Jeep, two dirt bikes, and a friend's Kaw Prairie 650 quad back there. That's about 13,500 lbs. of trailer, camper and toys.

Mustard Dog 11-20-2002, 07:28 AM Hey Todd, would they have let you pay extra for a second coat of paint? The one thing I've noticed about a lot of new trailers is that the paint starts lookin crappy in a hurry.
I like the idea of this thread, but if you make or sell trailers for a living, please refrain from pimping your goods ;)
FYRMAN 11-20-2002, 08:13 AM :D I don't make them, or sell them. I just work on them. Does that still count?

FYRMAN 11-20-2002, 01:28 PM No worries man. I'm on salary, so it's not like I make any money from it anyways.

plunkinberry 11-24-2003, 09:12 AM Oxjockey, with the pintle hitch set up, is it hard to back up? I've never pulled a big trailer with a set up like that. I have used small military trailers with the pintle set up and it is relatively hard to control in reverse. And honestly, I have a hard enough time without making it worse...

Woola39 11-30-2003, 09:38 AM Here's my trailer. It tilts up with a manual hydraulic cylinder. Has two 7000# rated axles w/ electronic brakes.
Full steel. It also has a lockable compartment that holds a spare tire, tiedowns, or whatever.
A little around a $1000 in parts. We had a good welder/fabricator between jobs for about 2 weeks and wanted to keep him on with us so he built this trailer and 2 more trailers for industrial welders.
So it cost more in labor, but we were keeping him anyways and he does great work. Very satisfied with it.

Weighs 2100# but pulls easier than the 1280# utility trailer it replaced.

chris demartini 12-29-2006, 10:55 PM Mine is made by Down To Earth, I just bought it brand new. Very well built!
18 feet x 82 inches
dual 5200 lb axles with brakes
2 foot dove tail with slide-in ramps
The sticker was $2800, I got it for $2400. The dealer I got it from cut me a deal because the 10k was already on the lot, and they had no E.T.A. for the 7K I ordered due to redneck shipping company drama  The place down the street wanted $2500 for 16' 7K open center
This is a picture of a 7k from the site, looks like mine. I can say for sure that the axles/springs/tires are not the only differences between 7k and 10k. When I picked mine up there was a 7K next to it that had already been sold, the 7K had 4" rails and my 10K has 6" rails.

Trailer itself was free. I got a 77 Fiat for free when I was 17, my uncle wanted it so I traded him that traielr.
I ended up putting $700 in to it for new 6,000lb axles, electric brakes, springs, drive over fenders, wheels, tires, hitch, and 7 plug RV.
It was a farm implement with mobile home axles. I understand it was used to haul a 3,000 gallon water tank.

yeah - AND the trailer brakes were non-functional when I got it. (makes me wonder if they worked with that load on it)
When I got it, the outer front corners of the trailer were bent up a little, which would be consistent with tying down something like a large cylinder. I straightened that out while I was doing the fenders and axle swap.
Like I said, this was a farm implement - an ugly one at that, therefore abused.

Fool Injected 08-20-2007, 01:35 PM Damn, I thought I had posted up inhere already. Guess not.
I bought this trailer back in April or so, had it built with an extra 6" of vertical goose to be sure it cleared the bed rails of my truck which is lifted a bit. In addition I had brakes added to the second axle, 6 foot slide in lockable ramps, a spare tire, double jacks, and the two RKI boxes under the deck added.
28 foot deck, $6000

rockota 08-20-2007, 02:28 PM damn thats cheap i wish there were deals like that in SO CAL.
Surprisingly, prices in MN aren't bad. I could have custom ordered an ABU with a ton of options that I wanted for about $2600 +ttl. But when I saw the PJ, there was no point. Only things I'm planning to do to it are welding on some rear stabilizers (the receiver tube type) to send weight directly to the ground when loading and a few D-rings strategically placed. Unfortunately, I'll have to grind the powder-coating to do so. :( BTW - my trailer is powder coated tome, bottom, inside and out - something I couldn't find from any other manufacturer, especially in this price range.

rockota 08-21-2007, 12:12 PM Brian, where'd you get your PJ? I'm going to be seriously looking around March for one.
Picked it up at Sparks Custom Trailers. Bought mine at the Avon store, but they have a larger one in Owatanna (+ battle lake and st. cloud).
http://sparkstrailers.com/default.aspx
And the trailer is still on sale for $2100.
http://sparkstrailers.com/currentads.aspx
ChiXJeff 08-21-2007, 02:28 PM The Owatonna location would probably be where I'd go, I live half way to Rochester. There are a couple of local dealers, but from what I'm seeing about PJ trailers, they're better built than what the local guys are selling.
BobBarry 08-28-2007, 08:17 PM A '92 or so Big-Tex 18' wood-deck
$1300, including three new tie-down ratchets and four axle-straps.
Brakes on only one axle.
http://drbob.tqhosting.com/cherokee/towingf250_3.JPG
I've changed to a swing-down jack, cut off the bump-bar at the front (so I can drive off the front), put on new tires, welded up a broken shackle-mount, updated the lighting, fixed some wiring, and I should replace the wood deck and add brakes to the second axle.
All-in-all, I would have been better off buying a new trailer, or a better used-trailer.
Oh, and the above pic is not my normal towing setup; that's how I ended up getting home the last 100 miles after my F-250 started spewing coolant from a rusted coolant-pipe from the intake-manifold... :shaking:

I paid $1550 for mine new about a year ago from O'Quinn Trailer Sales in Coeburn, VA. 16 ft flatbed, 84" wide deck, two 3500 lb axles, brakes on one axle, slide in ramps in the rear, and a breakaway. It has been a good trailer. Like someone said earlier though, the paint is crap and is definitely showing its age.
