URGENT ACTION NEEDED!
Background:
Many have heard that the Sierra Club was effective in stopping a needed permit for allowing the grading of the Pier Ave ramp. Without this permit, poor ramp conditions caused un-needed vehicles to get stuck which later was determined to be a safety issue resulting in the ramp being closed to exiting traffic. This closure caused excessive economic impact to the local businesses on Pier Avenue.
** What to do: **
Please send an email to the San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors URGING them to grant the emergency permit application that has been submitted to them.
Here is an example email (PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME AND CONTACT INFO, feel free to edit to reflect your views):
Dear SLO County Supervisor:
There is an important emergency permit pending in SLO County Planning to remove loose sand from the Pier Avenue ramp access for the Oceano Dunes SVRA.
San Luis Obispo County has invited many guests, including my family, from all over the world to visit the beach this July 4th holiday, starting June 29 through July 9.
Access to this beach from Pier Avenue is very important to us, and to the businesses we frequent on Pier Avenue.
Can you help get the Pier Avenue ramp graded for this holiday?
Please APPROVE the permit.
Thank you,
