: Options for a 6-7" lift

Ok, the more the tires wear down on my ram, the more I want to just go straight to 37" MTR's. Right now i have a straight up rancho 3" lift, with 6 rs 9000's. I want to know how much longer the front arms would be for a 6" lift, and what else i woudl need to do. From what it looks like, i could do a BDS shackle flip in the rear, put some 3" coils up front under the 3" spacers, longer shocks, a DT track bar, and just reaplace the whole steering with a ford style (mines already bent). And what abou tlong arms. I really dont want to buy a kit, would much rather go about it by piecing it together (so i dont get tempted to buy other junk).

SO whats the best way to go? OR shoudl i just throw on a 3" BL, and see if they fit on the truck?

BTW, the rims are 15x8 eagle 589's.

Also, how much less streetable will the truck be, figuring i put over 20k miles on the truck a year.. and yes, a gear change will be in the future

thanks Garrett

Well, at any speed other than a crawl, but 3"/3" combo and 35" SSRs on 15x10s will rub with the back of the fenders with the wheels turned.

Several folks I know run 37" SSRs with a 5" Skyjacker and 3" body. I also know a guy with 37" Boggers and a 6" lift, but his front coils are custom from National with a stiffer rate.

As for lower control arms, just do the math to calc the length required for the same mouting points, just 2-3" taller. The upper arms really could use a relocation bracket so you don't kink them on the top of the upper factory mount at full drop.

How will the ride be? Other option is just to put on 35" mt/r's, btu i woudl really perfer 37". I know with the short arms, it gives a stiff ride, because of the arm angles. But my question was, could i keep these arms, with a 6" lift, or will there be no way around having to get (or make) longer arms?

thanks

Garrett

also, anyone know if i can just buy the arms and mounts for the DIck cepek lift?

I would want to get longer arms and build/use a setup like the 5" SJ kit. OF course a long arm setup would be cool. RDC has a longer arm 6" kit now. You might build something similar.

The ride wont be much different with the 3" arms you have now vs a 5=6" arm of the same mounting points. They are similar in length, but the short arms will pull the axle back and you will get rubbing
