My stock "strap" setup won't fit on my wild Horses 5.5 springs into 78 f150 buckets. What are some homemade setups that work with any of you bronco folks? I've heard of using muffler clamps, but then the spring couldn't compress as much.
What about welding a piece of chain to the bucket then to the coil itself? Would this mess up the temper if you welded it on the very end of the coil?
Thanks

push harder they fit.
If not, get some 1/8 1 inch wide plate bend it around and make that fit

Yeah I've jacked up the truck off the springs and pushed them all the way in, but the coil doesn't line up with the indentations in the buckets. I've visualized switching the coils to the other side (they are on pivots too) and that will not change anything. The coils kind of bow out like they just make contact on the inside of the bucket. My old 6" Superlift springs had a nasty bow also after time and recurring off road beatings.
New plan: Put ext. radius arms on the rear and run the pivots and WH springs (w/trac bar of course) on the rear then run Swayaways in the front. 3 link or ext. radius arms on frony then??
