I am thinking of going with the RE "whack and tap" SYE for my TJ as I want to swap out the np231 eventually but need something to get me on the trails for the time being.

Problem I see, is that the RE kit uses a flat flange and therefore the new driveshaft will also have be made for the flat flange at the transfer case end. When I swap to a dana300 or atlas I will need a drive shaft with a 1310 yoke at both ends.

Can the driveshaft designed for a flat flange be changed to have a 1310 yoke?

Just want to make sure I won't need to buy another drive shaft in a few months time, otherwise that would really piss me off. :D

all you "would" have to do is swap out the yoke or flange to accomodate the yoke on the new t-case, but with a D300 you will more than likely have to get your current shaft shortened or lengthened, or just get a new shaft built to length and use the old one as a spare, just face it the sport isnt cheep and you are going to have to fork up some $$$$$$$$

Youll have to lengthen your shaft either way w/ an Atlas II or D300. Just buy the damn shaft already. :flipoff2:

If you can afford an Atlas you can afford drive lines. :D
