So I am looking at a pair of Dana 60 fronts for sale, supposedly from '80s 1 ton Chevys. I have been looking at the Dana 60 bible. I believe they are both DRW and 4.10 geared. They have been sitting out side for awhile and though the gears look good (no rust) the out side is rusted and would require new calipers and rotors at minimum.

I am interested in getting both if I can afford them, sand blasting them, priming and painting them and replacing the brakes. Then I would likely resell one of them to off set the cost of the other. I have yet to get the BOM # to determine inner shaft size.

I am looking for some opinions on what would be a "good price" for me to get them for as well as what they might bring after being cleaned up, to help me determine if this is going to be worth while. I have an idea but want to get some outside input. Thanks

Inner shaft diameter is 1.5 inches, 35 spline.

Those axles can go for $500 and up, all depending on where you live.

They sell for $1500 where I live.

How can you know the inner dia and spline without the BOM? Is it because they are DRW? The first 10 apps in the BOM list are 1.31 30 spline ...

Thanks for the info.

Some inner shafts are fat, some neck down, but they are all 1.5" 35 spline at the side gears and 30 spline stubs. Value is $100-$1600 for a stock one, depending on condition and seller/buyer.

All Dana kingpin axles produced through the 80s had 1.5 inch diameter 35 splined shafts.

Yeah, thats where I got the list. I see now where it says:
"GM

1977-87 K30 1 ton 4wd

1984-88 CUCV

1988-91.5 V30

All GM / Chevy versions were passenger side differential, regular rotation (low pinion) gears, disc brakes, 35 spline inners, 30 spline outers, internal style hubs, and kingpin knuckles. "

Which conflicts with the list ... strange.

oh well, haven't heard back from the guy...
