I only have to drive an hour and 1/2. I am wanting to see the rock crawling, but I have never been to this, what is the best day to go for that?

Also what does it cost just to be a spectator??

Jamboree web site (http://www.familyevents.com)

Browse for the 4x4 Jamborees and all the info you need is there.

Red, When you coming down? Ryan or Rusty coming with ya? I'll have my junk there, somewhere. hehehehe

I'ts gonna rain all day Friday, should be fun.

The rock crawl is but a teeny tiny piece of the overall event. I used to go every year back when I was single (and I live 300 miles away), and never once brought my own truck. Never had any trouble finding stuff to do for 2-3 days up there. The Indy Jamboree is the single biggest 4wd event in the U.S. 4,000+ machines, 100,000+ spectators. If you're in the area & have hubs that lock, it's a must-do IMO.

I would guess Saturday would be the best day, today it's raing and it's only practice as far as i know. Sundy is the top contenders from Sat. Thats what they did last year.

Keep in mind it's a man made rock pile.

Tex said it best. It is an unbelieveably big event, the first time I went I was pissed about how little coverage the event get when compared to its size and turnout.

It's a 12 hour drive for me and I've been 9 times. I can't go this year but I'll be there next year for sure, I may even try to take my truck for the first time next year!

Unfortunately, it's not a "West Coast style" event. And therefore the mags out in CA don't think it's really a credible event that anyone would be interested in. They show up & take a few pics to please their advertisers. But, their coverage has steadily deteriorated over the years. What's really kind of ironic though is that 4Wheel & Off-Road magazine actually STARTED the event, and now they all but ignore it.

I didn't even bother going today, way to wet for me. Then a little while ago tornados rip thru and demolish a bunch of shit. Fortunately not the Jamboree area!

Should be nicer tomorrow. Anybody that spots my JUNK, should say hey, I don't bite!

And BTW, If Todd has good (no rust, holes, or dents) hood he wants to sell bring it, mine is fubared!

How was todays (Saturday) show?

I was impressed. Especially for Indiana. I watched the rock crawling from noon till 2:30, then ran around looking at rigs and figuring out which winch and tires I am getting.. I thought it went really good. The crawl started off with a XJ I Honestly could not believe how much that thing did. The mud gave the competotrs problms getting on the rocks. it was good entertainment. :D

not as good as it used to be.Seems like about 90% show trucks.Couldnt believe some of the stupid sh*t people do.Saw a truck with stacked frames, and too many to count running 40-44s on 10 bolt diffs. There were a few nice buggys and a mazda pick-up thats was very well done.
