: Hazel Leather

I was looking for an IWB holster for my CZ 75 compact. There are many options, but Hazel Leather (www.hazelleather.com) received much praise on a CZ forum. The prices were very competitive and the lead time was much shorter than many other popular manufacturers.

I placed my order about August 16th. Yesterday 9/24, I received my holster. Right about 5 weeks. And that was with couple day delay due to paying with a check.

So, on to the pictures.

How it came out of the box:

Closeup of his stitching. I'm not a leatherworker, but this looks really nice.

Closeup of the inside of the holster. Looks like he might have used an actual pistol for the form and not a bluegun.

and here it is with the pistol inserted.

and in use:

The pistol fits in the holster very snugly. I assume it will loosen up a little over time, but I do like the way it is held tightly. The inner leather is a bit rough on my muffin top, but it's not unbearable. I also assume that it will smooth out a bit with use.

So, I got what seems to be a very custom made nice holster for under $75 delivered.

The only hitch in the whole process was that somewhere between my computer and his, my order was lost. When I placed the order online, I received a message saying that the order was placed, but I never received a confirmation email. After a week, I emailed him to make sure everything was in order and he could not find my order in his system. He had me re-enter the order and he put me in line about where I should have been.

Top notch service. Beautiful product. Affordable price.

I'll order from him again in the future.

Nice handles. :flipoff2:

Really nice leather. I need to find a semi local guy to make one for my 439.

.

 That is well made! Nice finishing touches with the edge coat and the impression of the pistol.

I'm supposed to get mine (5" 1911) in the mail tomorrow! :bounce2::bounce:

Mind if I quasi-hijack and post pics when it gets in?

Thanks again for posting that guy's website.

So I got my holster in today. It's a 5" 1911, and I'm carrying a RIA GI model. This thing feels greeeeaaaat :D. I initially placed my order August 17th and got it in the mail today, so at the very least, Mr. Hazel is consistent on production and delivery time.

edit: I'm 5'11", 200 lbs, if that helps.

And here're some closeup pics (apologies for the fuzziness, it's a borrowed camera) of the construction. AFAIC, the fit and finish of this holster is as good as stuff costing twice as much. This was $73, delivered to my door. I'm pretty sure as well that he used a real gun rather than a RINGs to mold the holster, but who knows.
