Anyone with the ability to run a license plate? It is a CA Plate, 26383S
It was my truck in high school and I would love to be able to find it and buy it back. It was a 73 Chevy step side 1/2 ton.
Just a shot in the dark I know. I am going to ask my parents if they might have anything with the VIN on it. But they are the WORST when it comes to being organized, that and it has been atleast 14 years.
But any help would be awesome.

If it was a few years newer...yes....sort of. For 75+ you can use DMV's website and look up the smog history by plate or VIN. Now the only info it will give you is when and where it was smogged last, but that still will tell you if the truck still is active here in cali, and if so the area where it was smogged last. Sense most people go to there local smog shop.
But that really dosn't help you...sorry:(

it might have been Farmers or State Farm when it was in my parents name, I will ask them, and maybe try that route. When I had it I used shitty places like Eastwood and crap.

I was trying to find my grandparents old Impala and gave up. It seems data bases only go back so far in many cases. If you have the vin, you might be able to run a carfax on it and maybe get an area it's in (where it was registered last) and narrow your search down some. I used to see their car driving around but it's been a couple of years. I really wanted to buy it back but I don't think that's gonna happen. I could kick myself for not getting the persons info back then.
