Very cool. I'm looking forward to seeing them first hand on the 9" axle we ordered from you, a very stout piece for sure!

Yep, the drive flanges are already heat treated and the gear company has them right now for the ID splines. Next step platers, then off to your shop (any anyone else that wants a set :D)

do you have a idea what the steel hubs and caps will sell for. Need to get my ducks in a row.

DrVic723

No steel hubs will be made, only 7075-T6 aerospace grade aluminum.

Pricing will be announced in approximately 1-2 weeks once we have them in stock and ready to ship. Thanks for the interest - Jeff

how long till you make those for D60s? looks light, and it looks like a set of 4 would make my truck go really fast

you mean 30 Spline 14B shafts?

No, it will use the standard 35 spline shafts. Those that want to use these on their 14 bolt axles will just use an aftermarket or stock flanged axle and will not need to buy the drive flange.

Those that want these on a 9" fab'd housing will be able to use these with some double splined 35 spline axles.

Versatility is the name of the game with these hubs.

OD of the drive flange is 4.5" and steps up to 4.62 for the wheel seat. 8x6.5" will be the only option for this hub design, bu don't get frustrated, we'll have an alternative for the other guys as well.

I'm guessing these are based off SRW hubs and you wont be making them for the DRW hub guys?

doh. Didnt see the pic showcasing the spindles. I just assumed they were showing off the bling hubs and the spindles are in the background.

So is the ID for 1.5" Shafts or 1.54" Shafts? or better yet 40 spline...

oops, typo. The flanges are for ford 35 spline shafts. That means that you can use a double 35 spline shaft in a hybrid 9" axle, or use stock 14B flanged axles in a 14Bolt housing. Sorry for the confusion - Jeff

Come on mr. engineer, how much material do you think would be left on the spindle if it fit a standard hub and was bored for 40-spline shafts? I'll let you do the math, 2" OD spindle and 1.71" OD 40-spline axle shaft.

You'd have to make a hub and spindle combo that uses larger bearings and spindle nut. All it takes is $$$$$.

Stock 14b shafts are 1.56in
A dana 80 has 1.58in 37s spline shafts, Might be able to fit 37 spline in these spindles?

Im not sure if the 10lug d80 spindles would allow a 40 spline shaft, That hub/spindle design might have been a better platform then the 14bolt and in the end weigh about the same.

I wonder if hubs with a big 10bolt pattern would be popular

People could change hubs instead of using adapters

Just a thought

DrVic's reply makes it sound like the drive flange is 4340

the 9" stuff for roundyround axles uses a double splines with aluminum driveflange iirc it is a coarse spline and they do cambered spindles on it
