i am in desperate need of a driver. i need to pull my trailer from Chicago il to Nashville tn and back. im dropping off tires and wheels and picking up a truck. i have asked friends and family if they would help me out. i offered to pay for every thing and still give them a few hundred and they said sure and stood me up. so im still offering to pay for fuel, tolls, food, and cash. the trailer is 100% legit with current tags, working brakes and lights. i have all the straps, chains, binders, winches etc there is no "work" expected of the driver except just to drive.

i am 26 year old guy i am laid back, love 4x4's and any thing motorized. i do not drink, smoke, or do drugs im not a criminal

if some one is willing to make some money let me know i can also through on some parts for extra incentive if needed. i have a sm456 with 32 spline out put, pair of 10 bolt axles, 208,203,241,242 t-cases,

A friend of mine is the one who traded the 4 wheeler for the white XJ earlier this summer.

Small world.

lol small world indeed. did you get what you were asking out of the K5? how did the XJ hold up for your friend? dude that got the quad wrecked it in like 2 months of owning it.

I traded the k5 off for my wrangler + cash, so I was pretty happy with the deal.

Guy that got the k5 destroyed it within 2 months or so, too....

He called me pist off when his rear differential exploded when he was doing a burnout on dry pavement on 40's with a 10 bolt

XJ is still alive, had alot of problems to work out in the beginning, still has issues, but it serves its purpose. It isnt streetable anymore really.

That guy wreck the quad pretty bad?

hell that's a pretty good deal you got for the K5. are you serious he called you when it was a bone head move to do that in the beginning wow that's incredible i could see if he was driving it and it locked up but c'mon.
that sucks hope it wasn't any thing serious i new there was a lot of little b.s that could of been fixed depending on what it was being used for. windshield, hatch window, cleaned up, general maintenance, etc. but i had no clue to the history that day was the first day i seen it and the second day i herd about it. if you need i still have the trans, t-case, front and rear drive shafts from my '91 XJ
i really dont know how bad is really bad on a quad but it looked like he hit a stump with the front left and tore the lower A arm off and bent the upper he said some thing about a cracked clutch housing or some thing like that. in my opinion it was bad ill see if i can get a pic from my friend and post it up.
did the guy with the K5 just blow up the 10 bolt or did he roll it or some thing

ripped the bushwackers off, exploded the 10 bolt, ripped off all the exhaust and installed some used shit box headers that leaked really bad, ripped off all the heat / ac stuff, covered it in stickers, tore the bumpers up really bad etc...

it was pretty much trashed, After he called me about the rear end I drove out there to take a look at it, because he acted like it had problems all along and that I must have known about them, and right in front of his house, there were about 3 or 4 sets of 20-25 ft passes of burnout marks, and right at the end of the patch all the diff fluid was on the ground, and it fell apart. :flipoff2: :lmao: He used a damn floor jack to jack the rear up and get it home, and you could see all the scratch marks on the pavement

It was kind of shitty seeing it so torn up only a few short months after I gave it to him but oh well.

He told me how hard it is to find 10 bolts and I gave him your email address and said keep an eye out on craigslist for you cuz you had a shit load of 4x4 parts, including some 10 bolts in the past.

That tranny that your friend through into the deal for that XJ was actually junk, installed it to find out, so we picked up another one cheap.

We'll probably go wheeling one more time this year and then hes putting full widths under it to get rid of the 30/35 combo.

lol wow he didn't even try to hide it or nothing. that sucks it was a nice looking truck too well at least you got some thing worth while from it.

thanks for the craigslist plug i sure could use the space and cash or a bigger shop haha

i thought the other trans was rebuilt or some thing like that? that's lame that it was junk i would of been kinda pissed off but that jeep would be tits with full width axles are you going to keep the NP242? t-case or switch it to a 241 with sye? there is a guy that has a 1 ton srw pick up d60/14 bolt 454 bbc i think its a 4 spd with a NP205 for 2k on CL i was thinking of snatching it up but i dont really need any thing on it well i would like the bbc but i need other stuff for my rig right now. but i think it might be a good donor for the jeep.

where were you going to go wheeling? i have 2 suburbans i would like to take out.

He told him that the trans was a fresh rebuild, never even installed after the build. I called b/s right away cause the fluid was nasty and the trans wasnt clean, at all.

The trans pan bolts were tight and there was no fresh rtv or anything around the pan.

The t-case that was in it was actually a 231 with SYE already in it... Im not sure what he's gonna use for a tcase yet cuz the front axle he got is a pass side drop.

Not sure yet where we will go wheeling, maybe the cliffs but id like to hit badlands before it gets too cold, my jeep is kind of fuccked right now, need a starter, P/S box, install my gas tank, fix a rear brake line, upper radiator hose fix, and change all the fluids, last time out I was pretty hard on it.

what a shady move on his part. he told me the same thing about the trans but i just dismissed it, i think i was preoccupied looking at all the unnecessary damage to it.

ya ill say it sounds like you put it through it's paces for sure

yea there are a few spots we tear up around here i would say where but you never know who's watching or listening. but there's about 6 places we go occasionally

this guy i used to hang out with has a big pond in his back yard its a city owned wetland type of thing its like 2' water and deep sticky stanky mud, well one night we got into the steel reserve and i took the suburban i had on 48's for a joy ride through it, i just drove through his yard avoiding the dock and paddle boat i just gave it hell all the way through and back it was the best night i had. his neighbors were even amused but the stench holy hell never again.
