Anyone have a pic of how the brake calipers are attached to the bracket on a 60?
I'm new to the 60 stuff and someone else took it apart.

ONE MORE Q:
Is there a seal that goes here or is it just open?

ONE MORE Q:

It's just open like it is. Sorry, no pics of the caliper mounting, but it mounts just like a ford bronco 44 caliper if that helps.

Not sure exactly what app you're talking about. Ford front w/the stupid rubber-filled slider pins:

Vova: There is a inner axle seal right where you pointed it out. There is no outer axle seal on the inner shafts. The inner axle seals keep the water and grime out of the housing....When I strippd my 60 the shafts were rusty up to the point where they met the seal and they were shiney and new..So the seal must protect the housing.

Calipers hmmmm prety easy just gotta look at it. The Chevy caliper drops right on to the caliper bracket. Then there is a C shaped piece that you tap in ot keep it snug. There are also flat springs that you can use too if this is too loose. When I got my 60 it came w/o the caliper hold down kit so I got one at napa for $11 each CDN....Just search napa online and get the p/n and go to the store and get it... When I wanted to see how to mount the 60 calipers I just got some pics off the board and looked at them.
I have some 60 brake mounting pics that I have collected if you would like them. E-mail me and I'll send them to you..
jmacdonald@cnopb.nf.ca.....Or maybe someone can post them...

so what keeps the water and junk from going inside the axlew tube?
The short side has that big seal thing so junk doesn't go inside the hub.

*Figured out how the calipers go on. Thanks guys.
Where does this thing go on? the pads:confused:

nothing keeps water and junk from getting in the tub but the inner axle seal keeps crap out and oil in. dont worry about it...works just fine

That piece goes at the bottom of the caliper mount. It's called an anti rattle spring.
If you want i could come by this weekend and show you how it's done.:flipoff2:

some guys run a seal out at the axle end, works great as the water and trapped debris acts like a slide hammer and destroys the inner seal.
there was a 'tips n tricks' in the rags that gave a NAPA pn fr it years ago.
better to let stuff out
