I was going to build one from a 55 gallon drum. It had a bucj of good info on media. I'll start looking for it. Here are the most common types Sand Aluminum Oxide Silicon Carbide Garnet Glass Beads Black Magic Walnut Shells Plastic Pellets morpheus 09-20-2002, 01:00 PM cool. i've got a pressure blaster and have always used sand (which makes a huge/dusty/dangerous to breath mess) but got this cheapo blast cabinet and had heard about using different media. - jack jeepnmatt 09-20-2002, 01:13 PM Menards here in Indy sells Black Magic, which i believe is a type of mill-slag. its fairly coarse and stays sharp for a few uses. typical silica sand loses its sharpness after 3-4 uses and give you lung problems. i use Black Magic or glass bead (on stainless). matt | |
