What are the drawbacks of a balljoint 60, I see people gobbling up the kingpin ones. Is the balljoint capable of 44's without issues. Tried to do a versus search but came up empty, apologies if this has been beaten to death and I missed it.

High steer parts are easier to put on king pin. They are much more involved to put on a ball joint and more expensive. you can also put 35 spline outers on king pin axles again more work on a king pin.

Yeah, its easier to go high steer with king pin.
Arguably an easier trail fix with the king pin as well, if you break it.

Theres is nothing wrong with a ball joint 60. Yes hy steer arms are easyer on a king pin 60.

I have seen a lot of wrecked one ton trucks with dana 60 fronts, it does not take much to separate the ball from the socket, top and bottom.I have never seen the old king pin style come apart, and the balljoint style will wear out quick. steve differential eng. inc.
