I am getting ready to pick up a set of flat top knuckles off of a chevy dana 44 to put on my dana 30 for hi steer. Was just wondering what everyone was using for hi steer arms and where you got them from? Should i use heim joints or tie rods ends? Any input you could give would be great.
Thanks,
Ben

You should find a lot by searching. I bought mine on Ebay. I can't remember the brand but I bought them because they angled in so they don't rub my H2 wheels. I used heims but might go to tie rods because my steering has some "delay" to it. There isn't any play but the steering is not as quick as I'd like on the street. Off road only I'd like the heims.

Man, if you could remember who you got those from that would be awesome. I I going to run H2's on my 44/60 combo.
And I second the TRE's if the rig sees some street time.

The only thing I can give you is the arms have "Xtreme" embossed on them. I searched and found nothing.

I have read that i will have to get the knuckle machined. Can someone tell me why i would have to do this? Couldn't i just drill and tap the holes for the high steer arms?

Even though they are called flat top knuckles, they really aren't that flat. You must machine them so the arm can be bolted to a true flat surface that is square with the studs.

You didn't indicate what model of Jeep. If it's a stock YJ D30, the D44 knuckles won't fit. If it's a CJ D30--they should.
May have been these, I've seen them listed before.

I have those but I don't care for them really. I haven't had any problems with them other than that I wish the holes weren't already drilled. They do ship fast from that company. Also the lack of a taper on the arms makes the use of missalignment bushings a must for heims.
