So its like a bike shock and you can adjust the rate with a air pump? I wonder if they can hold up the alot of abuse.

Ok guys. basically, the front end is completly stock, minus poly bushings with 7deg. of correction. The stock springs and shocks are removed as well as the stock spring perch. A hoop was built to support a similar setup to coil overs. But in place of the coil over, a high pressure shock, air spring with 14" of travel was used. It is currently charged with 450psi at full extension. It gives a very smooth soft ride, maybe a bit to soft. at current pressure, it is around 115ppi spring rate. but that spring rate increases with every inch of travel. It will maintain 465pounds of pressure at full extension, which is why it can force the axle to articulate. as is, I am cracking the brand new poly bushings. I had planned on changing the front suspension links, but havent made it that far yet.

the rear suspension uses 5" sky jacker leafs with the load leaf removed and the rear frame mount for the shackle moved back 1.5" to regain proper shackle geometry. Rancho RS9000 control the attitude in the rear.

Offroad, it is as smooth as can be. it handles side slopes well, and hugs rocks well. It has been beet on pretty well, and no problems so far. I need to remove some sheet metal on the wheel wells, so the compression side can stuff a bit more, possibly another 3" of compression. I will try to get it out again this weekend, and will post some more trail reports.

pic of hoop without center cross brace. shock installed without pressure to check hoop dimensions before completion of hoops and cross brace.

this is a bad pic, but it shows completed hoops with removable engine cross brace, and shocks installed
