my landlord is coming buy sun. I I NEED to get all the old oil out of my concrete. I am planning on using some BEHR concrete cleaner and a power washer
any suggestions? He already said we probly wont get our 1,000 doller deposit back just from seeing the oil in the driveway.

thanks
josh

get plain cheap kitty litter and grind it into the concrete.

then wet it and sprinke tide detergent on it and scrub it.

then power wash it.

coke, go to the market and get you some 2 litres, let it soak in, that shit will eat anything, coca-cola has been cleaning their truck engines with it for YEARS!

Use a citrus based hand cleaner like fast orange. Rub it in real good....let it sit....and then hose the oil stains away.;) ;) ;)

Muaratic acid, used for cleaning pools. Can be found at most good hardware store. Just don't get it on you skin or clothes, or anything else you want to keep. Read the directions, for nuetralizing after you apply. I used it on concreat and it just about bleached it. Found this out one day using it to clean out a radiator....Just make sure you neutralize it or it will keep on working...... That can be bad!:skull:

go to home depot and get you a gallon or two of Driveway cleaner and a stiff scrub brush on a handle. don't dilute the cleaner like it says to, just pour it on the stains and spread it out. Wait about 10 mins or so and scrub away. maybe re-wet it if it dried out. repeat. I got 20 yr old dried/caked/nasty looking oil stains out of my garage/driveway this way. I was amazed ... good luck.

That is what I was going to say. I removed rust stains from the neighbors radiator flush with it.

I just did it the other day so I know it works.

I just used hot water and common dish soap and a very stiff bristle scrub brush on a broom handle.

It is cheap, it works and your drive will smell LEMONY fresh. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I've used a propane torch to burn out the stains. The trick is to make light passes, if you stay in one spot you run the risk of heating an air pocket.

that is 35% hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid). be very careful with that. never add water to it. only add it to water if you are diluting it. goggles and gauntlet gloves would be smart. weak (diluted) acid will eat through everything you have, so watch out. lots of flushing afterward to get it all up.

they make products just for what your doing.. fade away is one that works good, but im cheap so i use simple green in one of those cheap weed sprayers and it works great at 2:1.. i simply spray it on let it set while i dig out the hose and spray it off... it will melt asphalt if not hosed off ;)

the powder laundry soaps work pretty good as well..
