Dear Everglades Protection Society members and friends:

Well, for the second season in a row we are going into hunting season upset, frustrated, and traumatized by the park service. No more, that's it, had enough, line in the sand, it's going to stop!

Everglades Protection Society will have a special meeting next week to develop strategy, unify efforts, exchange information, form committees and assign specific tasks to turn things around. We will only have a couple hours to accomplish a great deal, so come prepared to work. Please bring a pen and a writing pad. More important, come with an attitude that you are not going to let the them steal your heritage.

It will NOT be a fundraising meeting. If you haven't helped with the lawsuit expenses yet, or are in a position to give more, we will gratefully accept your contribution, but there will be no fundraising spiels.

Topics to be covered include:

Brief update on our litigation to overturn the ORV plan.
NPS actions in individual units of the preserve, including Zone 4
Big Cypress Addition
NPS proposed changes to hunting regulations
Private property issues
The NPS plan to take over Tamiami Trail and Collier County roads.
Closure of East Everglades
Upcoming Everglades National Park General Management Plan
Holey Land, Rotenberger, and Everglades Wildlife Management Area
Our efforts to unify hunters and fishermen throughout the state
And more as time allows

When: Wednesday, August 29, 7:00 p.m.

Where: Pioneer Room, First National Bank of Homestead (upstairs), 1550 North Krome Avenue (SW 177 Avenue), Homestead, FL

There is no time for a mailing, so please spread word of this meeting through the sportsmen's network.

Caps and camo welcome.
