I can't say where or how I got them, but they're impossible to get right now. Almost forgot, they measure 36.25" tall on a 10" rim.

Those look SICK! I have the same tub rub with my 35 MTRs, I am thinking of trying some toy PU rears, they are the same length as YJ but the pin is offset 2.5 inches.

BTW...your rig is looking a LOT like that chop job that the webwheeler formerly known as Dr. Evil did a while ago.

DAMN let me know what your doing and how it works....

I busted up my 2/3 link coil set up pretty good at big dogs and I was amazed at how much the 35MTRs "hid" the front leafs, so i was thinking of doing the same thing in the rears. leaf/leaf Just had 4 hours of CB discussion with my friends on my options, pros/cons and leafs just seem to always come out on top for me....and my gas happy driving style...

I still have my stock toy rears from the doner truck and was gonna pull em out tomarrow and start sizing it up....

FWIW: front toy axle held up great i came out of 8c on Fwd with the tcase straped down with a rachet strap ....I'm almost embarased to show the carnage.....maybe in a new thread....

Bahah

I ran out of time and ran with the stock zuke manual steering, i fabad a drag link at 11:30pm to take the 3/4" z-bar tierod end and my 7/8" 1 ton end on the kong arm * (see rant below) with the 5" pitman to the 7" steering arm it wasn't really to hard to steer, with the spool it wanted to go straight anyway but hell !!! I ran out of time on a lot of things.... But i made the trip and had a blast...

maybe ill post a pic :flipoff2: the vid of me breaking was cool...

I was given it hell and got bouncing and just laid into it and then hit my lower link, it folded, causing the rear axle to roll straight up, this bound up the drive shaft, casuing the t-case mount to blow, slamming up into the scabed floor board i put in at 11:35pm (which held the blow) The whole event casued the driver side to pull forward about 6" into my tubes, I jimmed it back a bit and air it down to nothing and front wheel drive'd on out....

Thanks jessie ! The drive shaft worked great and didnt break, got a few scares but it will live...

to quote a lesser seasoned trail rider, "that's the worst carnage, i ever seen". Me, "it aint that bad i can fix it enough to get out......" I was happy i drove out... better yet i was happy to drive on and then off the trailer....

* rant on kong, dont read if you dont care *
KONG ARM WAS FUCKED UP ...... rest deleted.... not the place or time, for my misplaced anger.....

btw: nice tires

Get a trailer, it's the best mod you can do if you own a Zuk, it'll extend your tire life 400% :p FWIW these aren't the competition compound.

Tim, when you get a chance PM me with what would be a good time for our spring trip. I talked to Erik and his schedule is flexible as long as he has advanced notice. Only month I can't do is June, April/May would be good, most likely May cause I hear Colorado has this thing called snow :) Oh and your welcome to try these next time we get together......

I hadn't seen the tube work yet. Came out really nice! Tires even look at home on there. Can't wait to get my 37s mounted up. I'd like it lower, but for the most part it is ok. Before it would idle up a 3 foot boulder, now I have to give it a little gas. Having over a foot of clearance under both diffs makes it all worthwhile, besides, I really think with the 1.6 installed it would feel perfect

When are you going to shave those axles? Kind of a fun project once you get into the welding part of it. :)

I'm going to be selling my oil leaking tracker soon.. Ohhh.. 8 valve.. :( I just can't take the fumes anymore. Only been layed over once. (Probably already sold to a friend for his latest Samurai project.)

Ahh.. I'm putting off on the rotating of knuckles for now, but may do it in the future. sure would be nice to get that shaft up a bt higher. I also would be affraid to do that job myself, my little welder just isn't up to the task.

Of all of the mods I have done thus far, I think I enjoy the welding and grinding of the shaved axle housing the most. A very relaxing process. Just don't care for the cutting and fitting stages. :p

You are gonna turn the knuckles on a Toy housing? That would be new. with the tubes as thin as they are, you should be able to do like some of the D60 guys are doing. Cut the tube, then turn a press in sleve to run inside the tube for alignment and to support the weld. Then weld the sh!t out of it.. :D

Do a search over in the toyota section, and you will see a very nice way to do it. Basically you run a tube cutter through the factory welds (or grind them) then you just twist the knuckles. they are press fit into the tubes already. then you weld it back together.

The above is the readers digest version of the process.

There are still quite a few card carrying members of the "way too damn long project club". I've been a member since 1997 (13B rotary powered, scout D44's, 3/4 elliptic CJ springs, 35 boggers) and have since turned my mild, driveable Zuk into a project before the radical one was finished (Toyota axles, YJ springs)

Here's a little write up I did. (http://www.azrockcrawler.com/_images/2002/2-02tiretest/2-02bajaclaw.html). I had some 33 x 15.50 SX's on there before the first claws. The claws flexed better, gripped rocks better and kick ass in loose hillclimbs. I was worried about their durability (my reason for going SX) but I ran a bazillion trails and didn't hurt em. One of the Toy guys down here (EricZ) parted his rig and I bought his 35's, then the 37 deal came along. As far as Boggers, hands down these outclimb them in the rocks. I walked up the last waterfall on Armageddon were two other bogger equipped rigs ended up just spinning their tires and needing a tug/push.
